    Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum although this is my first round with this protocol. So far, I've lost 7.5lbs and it's slow even though I am stringent with everything.

Quick question; what do you do when dining out? Do you ask them to prepare the meal w/o oil or do you bring your own?

I have a dinner party at a Mexican restaurant and I am terrified that I will be tempted to fall off the wagon. I have not dined out since starting this diet so I'm trying to prepare myself!

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

That is a very good question. I am sort of new at this to. And have a dinner date tonight looking me in the face. everyone is saying get a chicken salad no cheese and bring my own dressing. i am wondering if you could do a fajita? if you asked them to prepare it with no oil? and just put your meat off to the side until it looks like the right amount. maybe they have a salad there and you can ask for no cheese and just get shrimp or chicken in it?. Sometimes they want to put it in that lovely crunchy fried bowl that would be hard not to bite into that! lol
Hope that helps? sometimes you can call ahead and ask them what they have for you or what they can do. AT least enjoy it! sometimes its a chance to get our face out of a plate and look up and see our friends and family :)

I did it once, but it takes ALOT of self control. I asked for a chicken fajita salad, with no cheese or sour cream. I also asked if they could cook it "dry" w no oil. So basically it was a bunch of lettuce with chicken and some tomatoes (that is mixing veggies, strict protocol doesn't allow). I also put salsa on top of it. It allowed me to be social with my friends and enjoy some yummy food. I also didn't gain from it, but I made sure to eat fish and cucumbers for dinner to "even things out", lol!

Thanks everyone; I have to go there's no way out! Ok, I do feel better tho. I will do the salad, bring my own dressing and ask if they can grill my chick w/o oil.
I have lost only 7.5 lbs since I started this two weeks ago and I was afraid that this wouldn't "work" for me since nothing else ever did.
So far, it must be all water weight b/c I am not smaller in circumference........

You can do it! Are you drinking about half your weight in water? I lose so much more when I do. On days I skimp on water, I don't lose near as much. I also only eat 1 fruit per day and no melbas...but that's just me.

Thanks fatcat. I will do that. I started with the melbas but have dropped them. I probably could drink more water. Thank you thank you and please read my other question about apple day!

I saw your other post, but I am not one to ask about apple days! I have never done one. Mostly because my gains and stalls have been due to a cheat :0 but also because a lot of the veterans on here say they don't really work. IT says in P&I that they are purely psychological, and mostly water weight. I hope someone comes along to that post soon and rescues you! Best of luck!
