just wondering because i know it says that if you eat a tomatoe, no salt on it. so are you not supposed to put anything on the steak as well?....im wondering for next time because i had to do a steak day yesterday.....and i lost 3 lbs!!! yay!! very happy about that...but i was afraid to mess anything up so i didnt put any seasonings on my steak(and i cooked it just in water and its own fat)....but it was kinda bland....so even though im hoping i dont have to ever do another steak day(...yeah right...lol), i just wanted to know in case i have to do another one, if i can season it at all. thanks everyone
You can without a problem I would not put a lot of salt on it because you are getting rid of water by doing the steak day so you don't want to bloat from the salt
russmc3- it says no salt on your tomatoe in pound and inches, after it tells you to have the largest steak you can find(only for a steak day, i know other than that you can have spices)...and bodyslimway, you think its ok to have it on the steak, just not the tomatoe? do you know why there is a difference?
I always put spices on my steak for a steak or high protein day. Why in the world would you cook the steak in water? That had to be terrible! Use the bbq, george foreman, or put some oil in that pan!
Woohoo about loosing 3lbs and if you keep your protein intake up you probably won't have to do another steak day. Eat, eat, eat today!
So... essentially the steak day just eliminates extra water weight? Meaning, you will only lose as much as your body can eliminate? So, for instance, if my adjusted LDW is 171 and I've been hovering around 171.6-172, then going up to 172.2 Tuesday morning, and jumping up to 173.2 yesterday morning, what kind of loss should I have expected to see? I did do the steak day, but lost only 1 lb. Is that what I should have expected to see? I'm not really worried, I would just like some input.
Dr. S isn't clear what happens on a steak day so we are left to reason. Some people have a gain of like 4lbs over night, and lose it on a steak day, it's impossible to gain or lose that much real weight in one day so I have to conclude that it has to do with our bodies retaining. For myself I only have a gain when I haven't eaten enough, I've seen others gain when they're sensitive to a food. Not eating enough puts our bodies on alert so to speak and it starts holding onto all that it can, eating foods we're sensitive to causes our bodies to retain fluids. If we continue on it will become real weight and we'll have a harder time getting it off.
This whole P3 then P4 stabilization is to introduce food while we keep ourselves at that new weight. I see it as training.
As far as how much you lost and what to expect. Dr. S says ...." brings about an immediate drop of often over a pound". I think you lose what has been retained. Some people lose 3 or 4 lbs and others like you lose a pound. It looks to me like you lost just the right amount, since you're only 1lb over your LDW after the steak day.
I don't know what day of P3 you're on but if you see your weight edging up like that after the first 10 days or so, you might want to take a look at what you're eating and see if there is something causing it, or if you're not eating enough on the days before a gain.
okay thanks linda...the steak wasnt actually that bad, just a lil bland....and i wanted to check with some of you before i cooked it but i dont have internet access at home, just at work, thats why im usually only on here a couple days a week...anyways thanks for your input...hopefully no more steak days for me,(i am eating tonssss of protein today), but if i do happen to have one, now ill know i can make it a bit more tasty...
oh and i dont have a bbq or a george foreman grill...thats why i jsut cooked it in the oven....not really used to cooking steaks, dont really care for them all that much.....but i will admit that while it was kinda bland, it did taste pretty good cause i was pretty much starving at that point...lol
