AUGH! This is soo frustrating! My scale said down 1 pound from LIW for a few days. Then yesterday I was up .5 pounds OVER LIW. But every time I get on it, it reads something different, 3 pounds different sometimes. This is like get on, get off, get on, get off. Not different times of the day.
So today I went and bought a new scale. Brought it home, jumped on and it said 6 POUNDS OVER LIW!!!! I hadn't had any breakfast, please tell me this is because of walking around doing grocery shopping and such!!!
I don't have any steak, I haven't had anythign but water so far today, and I read on here about an egg day, so I fried up 3 eggs, (just dry, no butter or anything) and ate them along with a liter of water. I will try an egg day today but I don't know what else to do! What if my scale was wrong this whole time and I just THOUGHT I was down but was actually gaining this entire time?! There's no way I can recover from a 6 pound gain in P3 is there?!?!

When i got a new scale it was 5 pounds different from the other one. They will NOT read the same. You can count on that. you don't have a 6 pound gain. It's just a difference in the scale.

I think you can reset scales Grammy said but mine didn't change that much! Sorry.

Try getting on the old scales with something heavy then step on again by yourself. Then weigh on the new scale and compare. That will show the difference in the scales.

A lot of scales will give you different numbers. I was using a relative's scale for the first couple of weeks of P2 and then bought my own, but this resulted in a 3-lb "gain". The strange thing is, both scales weigh objects other than my own body exactly the same, but there is a 3-lb difference when they weigh me. Very odd. Because I can't mentally handle an out-of-nowhere 3-lb gain at this point in time, I just subtract 3 lbs from my scale's reading.

I don't think there is any reason to freak out just yet. Watch the numbers for the next couple of days to see how consistent they are. What you do with the scale's numbers are ultimately up to you. Do you still have the old scale so you can do some comparisons?

Yeah, but it's at the point that it will go to a screen and kinda freeze there. I think one of the buttons might be sticking. The old one wouldn't weigh anything till it hit 4 pounds, ,then it'd read 8. (1 lb. bags of almond flour)
I can not handle a gain like that at this point. I'll give up completely. Should I go ahead and finish this "egg day" to be safe, or will it just make me hold on to everything even more? I know I wasn't eating enough the first few days, yesterday was the first time I actually ate enough calories. (And by enough, I think I hit 1000)

I did as Grammy posted and reset my scale and it did help me, by the Grace of God. LOL Anyway I was not eating nearly enough and I am no expert but I do not think 1000 calories is enough. I was eating like that and had to do a steak day, and it failed because I wasn't eating enough to begin with I think. I eat way more than that now and am stablizing Great! Please eat more it really helped me out! I am so glad because protien and steak days suck!!! The protein day worked better for me then the steak day also! Bring on the meat!! lol

Oh and if your scale wasn't picking up anything until 4 pounds it might be that you were actually up 4.5 instead of .5 That would really suck, but I hope it is just a fluke! The other 4 pounds might have been hiding until you actually went over the 4!!! Like a scale that only reads in 1 pound increments or something! Maybe yours was reading in 4 pound increment! Yikes

You aren't even coming close to eating enough and it will give you problems.
