I am on day 17 of the protocol and I take 19(whatever the measurement is) of the hcg injections. My TOM is late and so I took a pg test and it was positive. I stopped the injections and waited two days and took another and it was still positive by a tad lighter so I am thinking it is the shot...what do you think? Plus I gained 1.2 lbs this am...is that normal is TOM is on its way? I am so confused and worried. Don't really want to be preg. nor would my husband be that pleased, but then again we weren't that careful this month......any advise would be great or any experiences!!
    thanks

Dr. S. protocol says not to do any pregnancy test until waiting for 5 days after the last injection due to the risk of getting a false positive....but there have been cases on this board when it was positive and it was infact a pregnancy before the 5 days!

I know that doesn't help much, but you might just have to wait it out.

also, you can do a search (at the top) on pregnancy and see others experience.

Kaite, a blood test would certainly determine things right away!

I would be suspicious of a pregnancy if you haven't had a shot for 2 days, and you still test positive with your urine. Per the literature, the half life of the hcg in our injections is much shorter than 2 days. I know we have to wait 3 days after our last injection to start phase 3....but that is to just make sure we have every last molecule of it out of our system....you are still turning the "pee stick" blue, so that requires a significant blood level...even after 2 days...hmmmmmmmm :/
