    Most of the scale inaccuracies I've seen where resetting it will fix it happen because either you moved the scale (lifting it up at all by the edge of the platform may throw it off), or stepped on it early before it had performed it's 'tare' adjustment. I agree, they can be so unreliable! it's frustrating!
