At this point, I am quite far from phase 3. But as I have done a lot of reading on the threads about Phase 3, and re read kevin's protocal it still seems somewhat confusing about what you can eat and what to avoid. What is everyones best advise about how to introduce high calorie foods, such as cheese, peanut butter, breads. Do you introduce these things in small amounts and one at a time or what? Any advise is welcomed, thank you!
no breads, sugars, or starch!! introduce very slowly one thing at a time especially eggs, cheese, and nuts. Also its best to increase your P2 foods 1st before adding additional items.
i have another Q...ok, im reading all these p3 comments and seeing where ppl gain on say..eggs. what does this mean?? they can never eat eggs again???!!!!!
On my p-3 if I gained on a certain food I removed it from my menu and tried it again the next week. If I still gained on it I removed it completly and will try it months down the road. This is why it is so important to go slow and log what you are eating so you can catch what makes you gain. Never had a problem with eggs, infact I use them instead of a steak day, but I always gain on beef. 5th time I added in a bit of beef from a sirlon roast I was ok but before that all beef made made me gain. I am now in R2P2 and still beef slows my losses.
Fonda- it is scary to move on!! Most people have troubles with the eggs and cheese they say. Also that you should wait on nuts and not to peanuts/peanut butter for a while cause its a ligume. they say there are "sensitivities" especially to the dairies.
I am at the end of my 6 weeks on P3. I am currently 1.6lb above last hcg weight. I have been up as much as 6, but was able to get a handle on it with steak days and high protein days. I had to stop eating beef, eggs, cheese and sugar free candy. I have not added these back since I am going to start round 2 this coming weekend. It has been a real struggle, but as of today, I am winning! I feel so good. I have not eaten a single thing that is considered "cheating". And.. I really dislike that term. Cheating is such a harsh word, and I think makes people feel the need to punish themselves. I hated steak days. All of the food journal suggestions are spot on. Know what's doing it, and you can eliminate it. It was much simpler when I relaxed, took a look at what I was eating and the lightbulb came on. I love eggs, beef, cheese, and especially sugar free chocolates, however, I am willing to give them up temporarily if it means a healthier me that I can be happy with. Good luck. Hang in there. You CAN do it.
