My whole foods only has the tofu shirataki noodles which I tried a while back and didnt like at all. and we have no asian markets which is a bummer so I bought them through Asian Food grocers.com. They are way cheaper than miracle noodles. Someone I read said they thought MN was better but I think these are really good. They have a flat $5.00 shipping charge so I stocked up on seaweed and other things I like for afterwards
It's because you are using the shirataki noodles, which have yam flour and bnot the miracle noodles which are the root. I've never stalled with the true miracle noodles.
I ordered the 10 bags online. Friends want to try too, so I had a friend that just asked to buy 5 from me. I split my bag into 3-4 servings. Since they are all fiber, I read you can get a tummyache from too much. I read a lot about them. You MUST pre-prepare them correctly for them to be good. Rinse for 5 minutes, then dry, then dry more in a non-stick pan. I liked them, they tasted just like the shrimp or scallops and spinach with the tiny bit of chicken broth I mixed them with. I have had them 3 times, and have had slow losses (even gained .4 since last night when I had them) so I will wait another week or two to try again and see if that was it.
I had a taste for some soy sause so I made a stir fry with spinach and shirataki,I wanna see what my scale will say tomorrow morning cause I had a alot of them.
I havent had a problem at all with the shirataki noodles, the 2 days I ate them I still lost. I have a great recipe with them so I will keep using them on occassion. I have to watch out cuz I get so full and I'd rather make sure I eat all my protein and veggies
I would just watch that you dont have too much sodium and make sure you are drinking a lot of h20
scallops aren't protocol???? I thought they were a white shellfish just like shrimp! I had no clue! Seafood and chicken broth are a no-no? Why do you think? What else do you use for a little liquid? (I want PAM!!!)
My husband & I really like the miracle noodles on P2 & still on P3. We have not experienced a stall w/ them & try to have them about once a week. Light ragu sugar free tomato basil (found at wal-mart) (1/2 c. per serving) is usually what we have on them. Miracle noodles are 0 on all stats (3 oz serving) but always ate a whole bag per serving (7 oz). I have only been able to find true miracle noodles (made w/ konnyaku) at miracle noodles.com. All others I've looked at on line (including asian food grocers.com) & in health food stores are NOT miracle noodles and are usually made w/ yam flour (starch) & probably not a good idea for P2 or P3. Miracle noodles usually run about 38.00 for 20 bags (best deal) (s & h included) & have a discount of 12% right now (ends monday,3/29/10) w/ code 1212 used at ck. out. We also like the braggs liquid aminos (found at health food store) on the noodles & and protocal veggies as a substitute for the soy sauce as it doesn't have the sugar or sodium content that soy has & tastes good, (in my opinion). Also, husband had scallops as white fish portion on P2 & did not stall as a result. Hope this info helpful------we are both stabiling well in P3.
