UGH, I went to get my melba toast and looked at the box and just noticed it has "1" Fat Gram! Here I have been eatting that all week :( putting a fat into my body that I'm not supposed to have. How depressing. I thought melba toast was melba toast I went to 4 different grocery stores couldn't find and finally found at walmart so stocked up on them. 3 boxes, I can't find grissini either, but plan a trip to a Wegmans tomrorow. Hopefully i'll find one or the other there, without the fat!

I know. I went through the same thing. I stopped eating the Melba toast because mine now has Canola oil in it (but that's another post). Grissini was originally on the protocol and I looked it up and it has 1 gram of fat per serving also so you are fine. Just make sure you are eating the right amount. The protocol calls for 1 grissini or 1 melba toast per meal. This is less than what the box says a single serving is.

most traditional melba toast does not have fat in it, or it has 1/2 gm. but the melba "rounds" have more.

I found Alessi brand crispy sliced toasts. They are non fat and less than a gram of sugar. They are about 3" square and thicker than a melba. Delightful! I buy them at my local Publix on the bread aisle with the melba and rykrisp and such. Works for me. Is in a darkgreen package with gold lettering.
