    Hello,
New to this forum. I am feeling discouraged, as I have followed the protocol to the letter, and have only lost a little over a pound. The doc thought it might be my stubborn thyroid, so am taking extra iodine. Curious, has anyone else experienced the no loss thing the first week? I can't believe anyone could be on a 500 cal diet and not lose.

    Thank you for your input.

Could you explain a bit more about the program you are doing? Like, what are you eating, and what kind of hCG are you taking? How many load days did you do? How much did you gain? Have you lost any of the load weight? If you give more info it will be easier to see if there is a problem with what you are doing.

Thanks so much for replying. I went to a health clinic and received a prescription for the injections. The doc upped my dose to 20 from 17 yesterday, and gave me a box of iodine pills. He said my small weight loss was unacceptable and I agree. I do have a scale that weighs pounds, water, fat, muscle and bone mass.

To back up. Last Friday and Saturday were my "load days", and I began the 500 cal diet Sunday. I felt horrible for about 3 days, so I didn't exercise. Altogether, I have lost a little over a pound. My diet is the Simeons diet.

I have never tried this before, and since I paid quite a bit for it, don't want to quit. Not sure what to do.
    Thank you for any advice.

If you feel uncomfortable about stating the actual weights, could you give the gain and loss for each day so far so we can see what happened? Were you taking the injections during the loads days? What did you eat during those days? What are you eating each day on the low calorie. The more specific the better. If you don't give any specifics, all we can do is wonder. How much water are you drinking?

Don't worry about exercise during this stage of things. It won't make your losses any better. Are you feeling hungry now?

I had a very difficult time on my first round. I went through a clinic and they were very little help answering my questions. I was ready to quit and a friend helped me out. I'm on my 3rd round now, and I'm down 63 lbs from my starting weight. Don't give up yet. You can do it.

It would be very helpful if you could tell us what kinds of foods you're eating and if you could tell us what upped from 17 to 20 is as far as how many iu's of hcg you're taking. Are you injecting with 1/2 inch needles in the fat or 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch needles in the muscle? Have you been at all hungry?

Many clinics change the original protocol and people have problems with that.

Here are the allowable foods from the original protocol. Are eating anything besides this?

Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.
    Lunch:
    1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

    2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

    3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

    4. An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.
Dinner : The same four choices as lunch (above.)

I should probably add the above that some of us avoid the melba toast and grissini entirely because it makes us stall.

You guys are great! BTW, I didn't mean to put that "shamed" emoticon on the last post. I'm not. The injections are with a small needle in fat of my stomach. For the suggestions, that's what I eat. I am going to try a low cal protein shake this morning. If I get really hungry, I eat fruit like apple, orange or grapefruit. I stopped the Melba toast as the doc suggested I do.
Yeh, I am uncomfortable with the weight I've gained over the past year, yuck. First time. . .I noticed this morning I have huge indents in my legs, so a lot of it could be water. I paid some big buck for these shots so I'm not likely to give up on this.
I so appreciate your comments. I didn't realize that talking with people in the same situation would make me feel a whole lot better. ;-)

You really should NOT do a protein shake!!!!! If the clinic told you to they were wrong. If you're hungry your dose is wrong.

Is there a reason why you won't say how much you were up or down each day?
