Ok before everyone tells me NO! NO! NO! Please listen. I have found out I am having a suprise party thrown for me and I will be 17 Days on VLC. I know this will involve some beverages as that is what is the norm with my group of friends. I know it is not on protacal, but what I am asking is how I should go about doing it. I am going to limit myself to a couple drinks. Should I still take the homeopathic drops that day, should I stop the drops a couple days before to get out of my system. Has anyone had a beverage while on the drops and was there negative side affects. This is all happening around my birthday. I do realize the consequence of a stall or gain of a couple pounds, but I don't want to mess up the resetting process.

Any feedback would be helpful. What is the least dangerous drink to have while in P2? Should I keep my diet to 500, raise it to 800, be on or off the drops.?

Thank you to those that reply with some suggestions, coments, or concerns:)

Your best bet is to not eat your fruit that day and have only one drink with something like vodka in it. Then the damages might not be too bad.

Forgot to mention that 17 days is too short of a time to actually take a break and go off the diet so all you can do is try to limit the damage.

Stay away from the cocktails because they are very high in calories. I would say don't drink and incase you do have a dry red wine or what grammy1952 said. But it's hard just to have one so try staying away.

I went out to party with friends many times when I was on the phase 2 stage. No problem drinking soda water with lemon. It was worth not drinking, when the numbers kept going down. I had just as much fun as my drinking friends.

    Well said nrodabaugh!

yes very well said! But I think newway has already decided to cheat and take the consequences. I don't like alcohol at all so I was advising what I've seen others do who took the cheat and paid the price. Some have said vodka is the least damaging. But no doubt about it, it would be better to stay on course.

I agree nrodabaugh. Thats awesome you could do that. I will do that on most weekends and other occasions. Since this is a party specifically for me I would feel slighlty rude not to let at least one person buy me a drink:)

Thanks for your input everyone. I will prob do a diet and vodka drink, skip the fruit and hop right back on track:)

Hop right back on track after 3 days. LOL Realize the cheat will rob you of 3 days of losses. :-(

The thing to remember is that these occasions will always come. Someone will do something that will derail you if you let it. Your weight loss journey needs to be for YOU and not for them. It's easy to let special days, special parties put the weight right back on even when the protocol is done. During this time, I really focused on changing ME and how I respond to social occasions. I don't have to eat or drink anything to have a good time. Food isn't the comfort it used to be. it took a couple of rounds to get there though. But that's the beauty of this thing. In the past year, I've changed so much and not just on the outside!

I understand that. I just don't get it. I mean why go to all this trouble only to plan a cheat. Didn't you know you were going to be celebrating your birthday. I guess I would have just waited to start until after the partying.

It's just not worth it to me. The alcohol, or treat or whatever will still be there when you are done. And you can always have them buy you a sparkling water and lemon.

    Not judging, just saying :)
