Hello everyone. I have 2 pressing questions. My 17 year old daughter and I are almost ready to start the sublingual HCG Protocol. {1} Is it necessary to stop the sublingual protocol during the menses? We will be doing 166 I.U's twice daily for 45 days. She will do one round and I will do two. We have read a lot of information on this some conflicting and would really appreciate your views. {2} What about OHSS {ovarian hyper-stimulation syndrome}? I do believe this is fairly rare and of course we will proceed with common sense and discontinue if necessary but her age is a concern for me. For those that are wondering I am a forty eight year old male. We really appreciate this forum and your replies.{ Thanks in advance } .

It is Ok to take the drops during menses, but tell your daughter that Hcg can kind of mess with her cycle. It has messed mine up for sure. If she notices heavy bleeding, she can stop the drops for a day or two if she wants. The symptoms of OHSS are a sudden weight gain of 5-10 lbs. and severe stomach or chest pain. Rest assured it is rare. Good Luck and don't be concerned too much if her cycle is early, late or lasts way longer than usual. Its not all that uncommon!
