    hey everyone, i have a lil more than 2 weeks before im in p-3 and so ive been checking out recipes and alot of you use almond flour. well i just looked up the ingredients and it says it has sugar(a very small amount, but still)...and so i was wondering, is it really ok to use in p-3? cause i reeeealllllly want to try that mug cake all of you have been raving about...

    oh and also, can we do all of elenas recipes in p-3? as long as we use a substitute for the sugar?

    I did the mug cake with almond flour without any gain on several occasions. It was wonderful to be able to have dessert after the VLCD. Enjoy!

    I used it to make the mug cake and pancakes--using elana's recipe (YUMMY) with no problems.

    The flour is acceptable. If you make the mug cake, be sure to top it with the warm fudge.....yum, yum, yum! I just made the cheesecake with the crust, cant wait to dig in it, looks and smells great! I may not be able to wait 24 hours so that it can really develop the taste....yyyyyyyyeeeeeeeee!

    AWESOME!!! im sooo looking forward to some sweet stuff...hey nrodabaugh, what kind of warm fudge is p-3 friendly? oh and heddie, what did you use to top the pancakes with? also, anyone know about the whipping cream, for the mug cake? what kind is it and where can i get it?

    I usually melted some butter or cream, put in some cocoa powder, xylitol ,mixed it together until it gets liquidy, like light fudge. Keep tasting it, add what ever you need, then add some vanilla, without sugar. Dont let it get too hot. Just warm enough to melt everything....over the cake, ooooooo so good! The texture of the mug cake was a little strange for me, but using the fudge on top made it way better. Dont forget this is for phase 3 only. You can use butter on pancakes, with fruit. Whip up the heavy cream, add xylitol for sweetness or truvia, and vanilla.

    awesome....thanks .....sounds soo good...cant wait for p-3....hopefully ill still be able to loose at least another 5-8 lbs.....yeah right, i wish another 10lbs at least, but thats not gonna happen.....ill just have to do another round....anyways, thanks for the help...

    I had better luck with the blanched almond four than the unblanced (its that skin on the outside that most people have the problems with. it made me gain a little and it itched my mouth but not the blanched.)
    Also, when baking, it really is good to mix your almond flour and coconut four half and half, very tasty!:)
