I'm due for my annual physical and need to get blood work done prior to the appointment. I'm in week 2 of P3. I know the hcg should be out of my system by now but I'm wondering if other things need time to get back to normal before I get the blood work done. For example, will my resetting hypothalamus throw some numbers off or the lack of sugar/starch in my diet. Please advise if I can go ahead and do the blood work or if I should wait until I'm deep into P4 (when everything has been reintroduced and hopefully, I've stabalized).
    Thanks!

All I can tell you is my history. I work at a doctor's office and had bloodwork done before, during and after the protocol. The only think that was abnormal was during my injection period, my testosterone level was WAY, WAY, HIGH. That being said, I did not have any of the symptoms I should have had from those levels. I did not develope a beard, a lower voice or more muscular physique. Those are the things that one would expect from that level. About a month into Phase 3, I had bloodwork done again and everything was perfectly normal, except my cholesterol (which is always high, no matter what). It doesn't take long for the hormone to get out of your system, but as far as I know, it did not affect my regular levels one month after I quit injections. You might wait another week or two and then schedule your physical if you are concerned, but I don't think there is anything to worry about. The 35# weight loss made my PCP very happy, and me ecstatic!!

Thanks! I'll go ahead and schedule it. I just wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be lingering side effects.

Pounds and Inches says cholesterol is very high while on hcg. I'm guessing it might not be back to normal in just 2 weeks.

I went to have blood work done for my annual checkup on Feb. 9. I've never had high cholesterol ever. This time I did. I was on R1P4D4 when I had the blood work done. I really thought, at the time, that I should probably wait, but I needed to have thyroid levels checked anyway so opted to have it all looked at while they were drawing blood anyway.

Some of the good that has come about is that my blood glucose dropped from 109 to 102, insulin levels are looking good. So the things that pertain to the sugars are much better with the 40 pounds I lost, and the things that pertain to the fats and inflammation in my body system are elevated at present such as LDL cholesterol and C-reactive Protein. I have an appointment to speak with the natureopath dr. on Feb. 26 and plan to ask her some questions about all of this. I wanted to begin my R2 on the 27th, which will be exactly at the 6 week mark from the time I began P3D1. I want to lose another 15 to 20 pounds and then maintain that for a long time. That would put me at around 150-155 lbs at 5'4", which is where I've usually felt my best...when I was able to get there.

I'll let you know what the dr. tells me. Please keep us posted as to your results and what your dr. tells you. I really do find the "science" of the protocol to be kind of interesting, don't you?

Hmmm. Thanks for the additional input. I think I'll wait until I'm well into P4 before having the blood work done. I'm already at what is considered a healthy weight (though losing an additional 10-15 lbs is tempting...). I'm not sure I'm going to do another round but if I do, I'll schedule my physical for before I start again.

I agree with the above...your cholesterol will be elevated for about 2 months after completing a p2.....other things like glucose and insulin will look better, but since the hcg releases so much fat into your blood stream, it takes time for the cholesterol levels to normalize again.
