I have seen two different versions of P&I. I suspect there are more out there with slight variations. They are very close, but one does mention strawberries as allowed, and one does. Which one is the original? Strawberries yes or no?
I know the one here has been edited by someone, fairly recently. I'm sure it was with the best intentions, but we all know what the road to hell is paved with. ;-) They've added a reference to Stevia, which wasn't on the market when the protocol was written. Kind of casts doubt on the integrity of the rest of it - what else got changed to suit someone's idea of what it *should* say?
That is my concern as well. I am getting sick of just apples all the time, and would love to add some strawberries, but am really hesitant because I don't trust that they were originally included.
I assumed strawberries were originally included as they were on my protocol, and as far as I could tell, my menu was exactly the same as it was supposed to be?
TLM, I for one am glad they (update) the sweetener due to the fact that Saccharin is a potential carcinogen. Love the taste of the all natural Stevia..
I believe that a handful of strawberries, apples and 1/2 grapefruit is on the original protocol. In Trudeau's book, he says that he has read the original protocol and talked to doctors who were trained by Simeon and put the protocol in his book. Trudeau eliminated the crackers and says so in his book.
Okay, Trudeau says that he has the original, but modified it not to include the crackers (which I don't use either).
Are we sure that he - or someone else along the way - didn't add strawberries? The copy of P&I that I have (which is included in HCG Victory Toolkit) does not have strawberries.
I do agree on the Stevia and would have used it regardless of what the protocol said.
LOL, seriously I do the best I can, but wow some people really get their Jockey shorts in a twist about the smallest issues!! That's why Grammies there to lighten it up with sound advise :0)
