Hi sorry but the only advice I can give is if you dont get the answers you want from your doctors take him to the hospital and make sure you get the treatment you want from them and dont leave until you are happy with what they tell you. Hope all goes well for you.

    Hi,
how often does he throw up? Could it be something like "I dont want to go to school"?
    Is he weak? feel seek?
At 11 I could also imagine he smokes some cigarettes or tried anything else that has that result (at least I did at about that age!)
I would make sure he drinks enough. Would suggest ginger tea, cause it calms down the stomach.
And I am fan of charcoal tablets: they "collect" (bind?) toxins and dont do any harm.
And then you will see how he is tomorrow and decide if you need to see the doctor ...
    Hope he gets well soon!

I agree with rednats....remember you are the paying customer...your doctor is just a provider of health care...don't worry what they think of you...he's your son.

I do know there is a 3 week or so virus going around..and he may have that. Kids get better, then get worse again, back and forth for a few sometimes up to 4 or 5 weeks. He may have a mild case of that. He should also get some blood work done, make sure nothing else is wrong.

You are doing the right thing by going to the doc. I will keep you two in my prayers today. Hope he feels better soon. :)) Hugs :))

Give him some Pepto. It should help with the throwing up.

Never heard of throwing up with diagnosed type1 diabetes.
Was he really really thirsty for the last weeks? Has he lost quite some weight although he was eating? If not I doubt the diabetes.
I rather think of a virus too. Rather drink small amounts of rater warm tea might help to keep it down. If he really gets dehydrated cause he cannot keep it I would rather go to see a doctor today than wait until tomorrow. You know how to test the dehydration? lifting up skin on the back of the hand. It should go back immediatly

To me double vision is something to be concerned about it. Double vision in an 11-year-old due to eye strain????

Trust your intuition and get him tested. Also consider food allergies/intolerances and pay attention to what he's eating. Try removing gluten, it's such a trigger for so many things anyway.

There is a virus going around here that comes and goes, and kids show up at school then go home the next day then come back (our kids are a really small alternative school so they keep an eye on every one).

Get the bloodwork. I've never known a mom who regretted trusting her intuition.

One other thing that comes to mind for me is that he may need a little salt put into his system. I'm not sure why it happened, but when my sister was little she had a couple bouts of throwing up for no reason, got very dehydrated, and had to be hospitalised because of it. In things I've read in my adult life, I've learned that sometimes this can happen if there isn't enough sodium in the system. A person can become allergic to almost everything when they are deficient in salt. From what I've read, it's not uncommon to give people who are a bit dehydrated like that a saline solution when they come into the hospital. You might see if a 1/4 tsp of sea salt in water helps him at all.

I agree with Brandeline, I was just about to suggest Pedialite. I've had some horrendous food poisoning episodes and as soon as I get a little Pedi. in the system I get better so much faster. :( Sorry this is happening to your boy, it sounds really scary.
