Hi, I posted this on another thread but thought this should have its own thread, too, since some people will be looking for help with hunger on steak days.

There is a recipe that you can make that will help you fill your tummy all day long while you're waiting for your big steak in the evening. I have done steak days like this already twice and the steak day still works like a charm. Go to www.miraclenoodle.com and order konjac glucomannan flour. You put the juice of one lemon, stevia to taste, and enough water to make 1 liter or quart. I also add a little matcha green tea powder and some powdered vitamin C. Get the blender going on low speed and then put in about 1/2 to 1 tbsp of glucomannan flour. Blend until it starts to get thick and then pour into a jar. The resulting gel is something similar to jello but a little softer, more like lemon meringue pie filling. I made three of these recipes yesterday and ate liberally before dinner, and had no tummy growling all day, and still had normal steak-day type losses the next day.

Thanks for the info Dina. I am saving this info. Just starting my second round ... had quite a few steak days in P3 last time. Hopefully it won't be the same after this round.

    Dina,
I wonder if I could just blend up some of the miracle noodles I have in my fridge? ;)
I still haven't found a GOOD way to prepare the noodles -- with various things on top, its OK but not great. Now I think they'd make a good 'jello/meringue' combo.

    hampyoung,

I don't think it would work to blend up the miracle noodles, although it doesn't hurt to try. Definitely, if you could stand eating them with nothing on them, or maybe seasoned with lemon juice or vinegar and a little salt and pepper, it would help to fill you up in the same way. But I don't think you can make this jell-o kind of dessert with them. I think that they have calcium hydroxide in them to set them in their shape, so that blending the noodles themselves will not do the trick, but do let us know if you find out otherwise.

I had to bump this...I made a delicious lemon creme pudding with glucommanan powder (I pulled it out of capsules I had), lemon juice, a little splash of vanilla, stevia, one Tb. Walden Farms marshmallow dip and 1 Tb fat-free Greek yogurt for a bit of creamy texture (I figured it's the same as the 1 T skimmed milk allowed per day). Added water and blended...wow was it good! I had been skipping breakfast but now I have something that won't break my calorie budget.

what I did with the noodles:
I used Laura's brand organic 4% fat beef; browned it with a TBLS or so of shopped onion and pepper; seasoned with Italian herbs, fennel, garlic (whatever u like in your spaghetti). Poured over was a can of tomatoes (no sugar). This was my "spaghetti sauce" which I ate over half a bag of the glucommanan noodles. my first time trying the noodles, and I could see how they were filling.

Now, I am not a beef person, and I hate ground meat. I always eat chicken. But this was a good change that I needed from the chicken.
