Hi. I,m 61 years old and am doing the hCg throuhg my DR. Thought maybe blood tests were a good idea since I hadnt had one in 20 years. I,m doing the injections in my stomach (125UI) and so far havent had any hunger at all Day 3. Lost 6.5# drink 2.5L of water plus coffee have to force myself to eat the protein.Sure do miss my wiskey and waters though. What kind of bath soap and shampoo and conditioner can I use, also what about mouth wash, it has alcohol in it. Pants already feel a little loser. At least I can button them and breath at the same time!Good luck to everyone.

Be prepared Andrew. I lost 20 lbs in 19 days and women lose at half the rate men do. That isn't a guarantee for you, but if you truly work this diet as it will work for you and FAST. My brain's been about a week behind my body...I just can't quite comprehend the loss- its surreal. I'm getting there.

Welcome Nanny! The only thing I am aware of is avoiding 'oils' in your beauty products. I think I saw something on this recently in the Q & A section.

Skinny Dance...I need you to share all of your secrets with me. Some say I am nuts for wanting to drop 60 pounds, but if I can do 20 to 40 in the first couple of weeks that would be awesome. What can I do today for my first day tomorrow? What did you do?

I am heading out for the Superbowl. I hope all of you have a fun safe night.

    Andrew

Best thing to do Andrew to prepare for tomorrow is decide what you want to eat tonight for tomorrow and have it set to go so there's no fus in the morning. Ideally, you could cook all your meats and some veggies for the week and put them in containers or zip locks so all you have to do is reheat at meal time.

What a great thread!! I agree that your clothes are not going to fit...in just a week or two. Old habits die hard. I have my favorite work pants and they are a size 20. I bought some new pants in a size 14!! Those 20s were tight right before christmas, btw! But for some reason, I have been weqring those 20s. They fall off of me, but I am soooo comfortable. I had to promise my office-mate I would not wear them this week, but I really want to, lol!

My favorite meal right now is to take my tilapia and cut it into strips. I take my melba toast and turn it into crumbs, and mix w coarse seasonings like mrs dash. Then I dip the strips in egg white, then the crumbs. I sprinkle a little salt and garlic on top and bake until crunchy. Fish sticks!! Really great dipped in horseradish, mmmm. If your not comfortable w the egg white, just use water. It doesn't even use half of one white, so I figure harmless...

Nanny- welcome! The key to beauty products is OIL FREE and ALCOHOL FREE, no lanolin, no petrolatum(petroleum). Mineral oil is the only oil acceptable. You can use aloe vera for moisturizers and leave-in hair conditioner. As for mouthwash, no sugar, no alcohol. Even sugar alcohols are off limits. I use peroxide and baking soda to rinse and brush my teeth. There are many newcomer threads that talk about this. But, if you have any specific questions, we're all happy to help anyway we can. I use dial soap and Nature's Gate shampoo. As for my make-up, I have an oil free(that includes no vitamin E too) foundation and the rest I use powder make up. I have a charcoal shadow that I dip my eye brush into water and then into the powder to create P2 safe eyeliner. Be careful of lipsticks too. No vit E or lanolin. Most Burts Bees products are off limits but I've used their colored lipgloss w/o gaining. Oh, before I forget, deodorant-- I use the Rock. Its not antiperspirant so you do have to reapply sometimes especially if you are very active. That's all I can think of right now.

I also make several servings of chili on sundays and freeze for unplanned moments or to grab on the way to work. Its real food and noone at work can really tell its "diet". Very satisfying.

    Andrew,
I do want to caution you with some recipes I've seen on the forum. We are not supposed to mix veggies at the same meal. Some people are able to do it with no consequences. Many others stall. So recipes that mix onion and tomato...might stall you. You can however use onion powder if the only ingredient is onion (many spices have extra weird ingredients in them). Minced onion does not dissolve in water and is not considered a true spice...but a dried veggie. Some people cook things in celery and onion for broth. I don't know if this would effect your weight loss...but again it is technically mixing veggies. So...regarding protocol...I wanted to you to proceed with full knowledge at hand regarding this issue so you can make th best choices for YOU. Watch your spices...especially like Garlic Salt...it often has starch and sugar mixed. You will have to read everything and be intentional.

I am still hunting for ways to keep my VLCDs interesting when I start (hopefully next week if my drops every arrive!) and I came across these awesome herbs & spices in the produce isle at the grocery store, they are freeze dried & have nothing but the herb itself in it. They are by Litehouse. heres a link to them,
    http://litehousefoods.stores.yahoo.net/freezdriedhe.html

They are awesome! I have freeze dried garlic, italian herb blend & poultry blend which is a mix of Onions, thyme, sage, marjoram, spring onions, garlic, rosemary. I've been adding them to everything & they really help with getting bored with the foods. Do you guys think they are ok? they have no additives at all, just pure freeze dried herbs .

ps Andrew I do the elastic over the button all the time (unfortunatley haha) & it works great! like have elastic waist band. hehe

Sounds safe enough. I'd give it a dance.
