Knaegele, I don't see cane sugar or any other sweetener listed in the ingridents, but the label does show 1 gram of sugar and the can is two servings. If I were to use it sparingly, how harmful could it be?

Triunf, I don't know anything about the drops so I can't offer any advice on those, but have you been following the protocol and drinking lots of water? If so, you shouldn't be so hungry. You have to NOT CHEAT no matter how bad your stomach wants you to.

triunf - you will find grammy (Colleen) on her own thread now. Just type in "Colleen" in the Search box at the top of the menu page.

Andrew - I just now reviewed my food charts all the way back to my beginning this round and was surprised that I didn't notice this before, but....the one glaring mistake was using commercial chicken broth! Every single time I had it, I gained the very next day. I'm including Swanson's, Pacific low-sodium, and several others. When I made my own...losses the next day.

I'm confident you'll see HUGE losses this week!

    Andrew,
I have yet to find a chicken broth that doesn't have some sort of starch or sugar in it. Supposedly at Fry's Marketplace...not regular Fry's...in the Health food section is a Brand called Pacific that is supposed to not have anything in it but Chicken, water and salt. If you can find this brand you can use it. I've looked at ever other brand at the store and they all have either veggies mixed, flour, starch or a sweetner of some sort.

If you like Onion....start pouring on the Onion POWDER. Minced onion is not a true spice...it doesn't desolve in water

Yes,...a little bit of sugar can stall you. Our bodies are HYPER sensitive to all ingredients on the hcg. If the tiny amount of starch sugar or oils in make up can stall someone then the tiny amount of sugar in broth can do the same.

    Triuf,
Are you on homeopathic drops? If so...then yes, up your does to 20 drops 3x day. Or can do 60 drops for the day but divided into what ever smaller amounts you want ...like 10 drops 6x day, or 6 drops 10x a day, or 3drops 20x day. What ever helps your hunger. Try that first. If it doesn't work I have other strategies to help you.

Joy and Lis....thank you for the scoop on the chicken broth. I bought that stuff long before I planned on dieting and remembered it was in the pantry, so i'll just leave it there. I can see I am going to have to adjust and improve my cooking technique before I worry about expanding my menu. I just cannot seem to cook this way without screwing something up.

I had a good day, but I can't seem give up my onions. Got a late start to my day, so for breakfast a cup of coffee, lunch a piece of fish with sauteed spinach and onions, afternoon snack an apple, dinner 3 egg whites scrambled with tomato and surprise surprise...onion. That's it! It's nearing bed time. I am having a cup of the Traditional Medicinals Tea and it tastes very sweet with nothing added.

I am feeling good and can't wait to see the scale tomorrow. Hope you all are at your peak performance and I wish you great success. *andrew

Andrew- congrats on your success and diligence so far. The first couple days are the hardest.
Making your own chicken broth is VERY easy! I typically take 2 servings of chicken, cut up onion, cut up celery, .5 teaspoon of sea salt(you can use regular), 1 teaspoon garlic powder, .25 teaspoon black pepper (more if you like spicy), 1 quart water....I bring it to a boil and then turn down the heat to low so it can simmer with the lid on for about 20-60 minutes. After that, I scoop out all the veggies, chicken and reserve the broth to use as a soup base and for other cooking as described above. The chicken portions are boiled and can be used for salad or whatever. The veggies can be separated and eaten or tossed depending on your taste. Some folks may feel this is mixed veggies in the broth but I've never had a problem with it as I see them as spice only unless I leave one in it for a veggie in my actual soup. I hope this helps. I too found it impossible to find clean chicken broth, that's why I make my own. You could even make it in a crock pot if you aren't able to be around to watch the clock. great success!

Thanks TR and I hope you are doing well! I appreciate the recipe and I will have to give it a try. I love cooking homemade chicken soup and I have (used to have) a bad habit of eating a lot of it in one sitting.

So here is my stats so far:

After loading I went up 7 pounds
    VLCD1 I came down 2.5 pounds
    VLCD2 I came down 4.5 pounds
    VLCD3 I came down 2.5 pounds

So I am -2.5 pounds to date.

I am hoping for another big loss tomorrow.

    Have a great evening. *andrew

Andrew...that may be your net loss...but you have to lose the load weight too and it is included in the losses....so you have really lost 9.5 pounds. As a matter of fact...you're supposed to use the weight you were on the vlcd 1 as your reference weight and some how you managed to even lose on THAT day. Most don't. Most don't lose until their vlcd2.
    Doing great already!
