Thanks lis, I thought so too, they are really yummy so I'm glad I can have then without feeling guilty.

Andrew I've been doing some serious googling in the last week & found some really neat & interesting stuff. My theory is you can't have too much knowledge, right? anyway I came across this tonight & as a newbie as well I thought this was really informative. check it out :

There is even a tracking sheet that would be good to print out & keep track of weight loss & measurements. cool huh?

Well I am back and I read everybodys feedback. It is so hard to think about food right now. I am soooooo full. I am afraid to tell ya'll what all I ate. I first ate a good bowl of cereal and two Reeses peanut butter cups. I then had 2 hot dogs for lunch, stopped at Walmart (Anthem) to pick up my Foreman Grill and yes...I bought a $20.00 electronic/digital scale although the manual white one would have been sufficient. I bought a four pack of Hershey peanut butter cups and ate them all before arriving at my friends house. At the house I had two large pieces of a massive sub-sandwich with tons of meats, cheese and mayo. From there I had a beer before going to Ft. McDowell Casino and endulging on the all you can eat buffet. I ate two hearty helpings of Prime Rib and I can't even begin to say how many crab legs dipped in butter before topping it off with a bowl of chocolate syrup covered chocolate ice cream with nuts. Now that I am home I took photos and measurements. I am busting out of my own skin! Now I am having one last Vodka Tonic and a Hershey chocolate almond bar before I turn in only to wake and begin my new journey. I am too tired to cook right now, but I will come home for lunch to keep this from failing me. I will give no excuses and make no mistakes. I am committed to this process and thank you for your support. Thanks again for all of the information. *andrew

Did I mention tomorrow is my first day of VLCD. I know I'll have to have a coffee in the morning, but what should I have as a good 1st breakfast and a morning snack? I am sooooo nervous...I don't want to screw up.

    Andrew,
You can break up your two 100g proteins, (which are different), 2 veggies, 2 fruits and two breads.....pretty much how you want except everything all at the same time. Dr.S says not to have both your breads at the same time.

I have discovered that my body actually does best if I have one of my proteins for breakfast. If you decide to have your fruit for breakfast...maybe have a bit of one of your proteins too. When I tried just my fruit for breakfast it left me weak. The rest is up to you. Men can eat everything and pretty much lose one pound a day. Women seem to do best when we leave out the breads. You can leave out what ever you want except the two proteins. They are mandatory because your body is on the border of protein deficiency. I just emailed you some recipes too.

As Dr. S describes the diet he says only coffee, tea, water for breakfast...then eating the next two meals protein, veg, fruit, bread. Like I said...many of us can't go that long or find our bodies work better mixing up the times and foods. No one can tell exactly what your body chemistry is going to like. It's just part of the learning process.

    Blessings.L

Thanks Lis...I will start out with just a coffee in the morning and bring an apple with me to work in case I start falling apart before I get home for lunch. After all the food I ate today, there is no question my weight will drop tomorrow. Have a great night and thanks for the late advice. *andrew

Don't expect the scale to drop tomorrow morning. You'll see a drop on very low calorie day 2...vlcd2. You take your wake up weight tomorrow as the reference point for this round. Not the weight before you started loading.

    Andrew,
I buy big bags of frozen chicken breast tenderloins and boil them, like 1/2 of a bag a day.
I put garlic powder, sea salt and onion powder in the water, then I take out the breast, and let it cool and put it in baggies, that's what gets me through work, I take two very small baggies, on piece for the break and one for lunch and if you get really busy you can save one for the way home.
You can also bring with you some protein powder, just check the ingredients before you buy, I think the one I have now is designer protein, whey, it's vanilla, I tell you after my coffee, then when I go to lunch to have a cup of cold water with protein powder mixed in it, it is so good and gives me that needed energy.
I don't do much protein powder just enough. I've bought the chocolate flavor and the vanilla, both are good.
    I am a chocoholic.
I do, do a pepsi one sweetened with splenda a couple of times a week, if you can avoid that, it would be better, but sometimes I just have to have something.
My favorite is sparkling water, just the cheap kind, store brand in the two liter, then sweet leaf flavored stevia from vitacost, (very reasonable price and lasts a long time) add a couple of drops and then ice to make it cold.
Also when and if you order stevia you can get your magnesium citrate and potassium then.
If I don't have my minerals my cramps get so bad. The cramps will come in the bottoms of your feet and also in you calves.

Okay just some things I was thinking about, any questions you can email

Ellie, Thanks for all the information and support. I am off to work for my first day of VLCD and as soon as I get there I will have to pack up all those goodies I keep around for my normal hunger. I like the frozen breast to boil idea...they don't dry out at all? Not sure if today will be as much as a challenge since I am still full from loading last night. Wish me luck and I'll try to check back in when I come home for lunch. Have a great loser kind of day! *andrew
