I was so excited to start this diet. My mother, father and a few friends had great success and wt loss so I decided to try it out to lose those last 30#. I had previously lost about 40# over the year through better food choices and excersise. I ordered the Sublingual HCG Drops and B12 Drops. On the Load days I gorged and stuffed myself full of high fat foods that I was litterally sick for 5 days, to the point that I couldn't think of anything but puking. My mom said that wasn't normal. I had gained 4# after the load days and it took a few days to get down to my actual start wt. Talk about disappointing! Then I lost a few # here and there and stalled, gained, stalled, gained for Several days straight while sticking strictly to the diet and suggestions posted here. I increased my drops, added Magnesium and Potassium, got more sleep...nothing worked. I was so tired all the time and almost to the point of being lethargic. I was moody with the kids and hated who I was. I decided on day 20 that I would quit something for the first time in my life because it just wasn't safe anymore. I wasn't safe at work, driving or caring for my kids. But then I did a little online browsing to see if the Phentermine sitting in my cupboard that I hadn't used was compatible with HCG. I got answers favoring both Yes and No, so I decided to experiment.....AND SO GLAD I DID! What I am doing is taking my Phentermine in the morning after I pee and weigh myself. Then before bed I take 24 drops. I lost .6 oz the first day (and it was the first time in a week I had lost any weight, so I was so happy). Then the next day I lost 3#, then another # and so on. I am not having any side effects that I can feel from it. I have energy (probably from the Phentermine too). Plus I have not been strict with the diet. I keep my food choices simliar, but do vary sometimes. For example I will have a bowl of Fiber One or Banana Cherios for breakfast, or have a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with low cal dijon mustard. Those are the foods I ate pre-HCG diet. I have enough energy to resume my spin class at the gym now too, and feel like my body is loving me again. And the weight is going down, so I am happy. I am not recommending anyone else to do what I am doing. I am just finally ok with my decision to vary from the "rules" and do something that is working for me! Plus I don't have crazy cravings for foods I know I can't have, even if I didn't really want them anyhow.
Has anyone else done anything like this before? Will it come back to haunt me?
I would be careful with using Phentermine on the hcg diet. Although Phentermine and substances like Ephedra are different in many ways they also react similar in many ways as well. I know all about Ephedra, I took it for 3 yrs as it helped greatly with my asthma I had. (believe it or not getting pregnant with my first child totally cure me of my asthma! yea usually that type of thing gets worst with pregnancy, not for me :) But thing is yes both of these things are appeite supressing, both elevate mood (get almost a euphoric feeling) and both are classifed under fat burners...thing is your taking in 500cals, really you need to watch the careful balance of making sure your body isnt working excessively harder than it should be. Which on Phentermine it IS! its a legal amphetamine. Being on 500cals for 43 or even 23 days is VERY cleansing, lot of people go into Ketosis, which can kind of have a shock effect on the body...you really have to be careful with adding something that would potentially cause EVEN more shock on your body. Heart palpitations are common with this medicine, not only that it can cause bizzare behavor/paranoia...
If you are dosing correctly you really should have no need for adding this you should not have hunger.
Were you adding non protocol foods prior to adding Phentermine, cause if you were thats likely the cause of the gains....or low losses.....and then the only reason it improved is because you added a fat burner, which increases energy.
I dont condon using these type of drugs as I mentioned I used Ephedrine for a loooong time, and it did control my weight although I was using it for a different reason. I did enjoy the enegry boost I got from it as I was figure skating too at the time. But man have a few scares of a racing heart to the point of being close to passing out.... I would be extremely scared to touch it while on this diet, you really need to be eating much more food when taking a product like Phentermine, way more than 500cals....I am fairly concerned that over time...hcg diet along with this will have serious health hazzards for you :(.
I agree with Jevequart, although I am not a doctor or nurse. I too have used phentermine for weight loss and had great results combining it with a low carb diet. The phenermine gave me energy and controlled my hunger allowing me to make better food choices which was low carb. If you are taking the Phentermine, there should be no reason to take HCG. I know some people do it the first few days, but that is because it takes a few days for many to lose the hunger. I am relatively new with HCG. This is my second round, the first I am not considering as successful as my weight loss was little and my hunger and weakness was above average the entire round. This round has been amazing...I feel great and average .5 per day, although I have had a gain or no loss a few days of the two weeks I have been on. I am very curious to see the long term result of the HCG and the only way is to stick to the protocal. You can't take phentermine forever...it is can addictive for some and damaging to your body. HCG done properly seems to be the way to go. I have lost many cravings that I never thought I would. I consider myself one of little will power when it comes to foods. The few people who I know personally on HCG say that they too have lost cravings after going through the phases by the protocal.
Good luck with your choices. I look forward to reading what the "experts" on this forum think about your experience.
Hi guys! RNsomebody, I am a CRNA and just completed my 3rd round of subq hcg thru a clinic. I agree with the above comments about the risks of phentermine. But also, the point of the hcg protocol is to rest your hypothalamus and reset your weight set point by doing so. If you are attempting to do that as your goal, then I wouldn't take the phen.....you don't know whether it will mess up the resetting. I understand that you were hungry with the drops and are frustrated with trying all the other suggestions to make that go away....were your drops homeopathic or pharm grade? Homeopathic work well for some, but don't work for everybody. If they are homeopathic, i would try switching to pharm grade or to injections and see if your hunger goes away. The fact that you are so hungry without the phen, says you are not resting your hypothalamus correctly.
Just a side note too, you seem to have alot of high fructose corn syrup in your food choices....both cherios and most whole wheat breads have that in them, which is very difficult on the body and will make you crave more and more food. Try eliminating all HFCS from any "added foods" and you will have an easier time with cravings too.
Oh dear, RNsomebody. I don't even know where to start. LOL First off, if you're hungry, the hcg isn't working. Period. It sounds like you were using homeopathic which Barb just mentioned works for most but not all. Barb's advice is the same I would give--switch to RX grade. You're basically doing a low calorie diet, not the hcg diet. You can do that without the hcg but it's not going to reset your hypothalamus. The drug you're taking is masking your hunger too so the odds are all you're losing is normal weight, not abnormal fat. So if you want to continue that, I'd discontinue the hcg. All you're doing is putting water under your tongue for all the good the hcg is doing for you. :-( THis protocol isn't forgiving so it's clear that the hcg ISN'T working or you would be gaining weight on that diet. Colleen
I agree with Grammy only because I've done the rx before and now am doing drops. I had some severe hunger on about the 5th day because I wasn't taking enough drops 10x3. On day 6 I "cheated" and had 2 oz of cheese, 200gms of chicken and 2 grissinis. If the hHCG was not working I should have lost weight because I only ate about 500 calories of food. But because the hHCG was working and releasing a couple of thousand calories into my bloodstream via abnormal fat, I gained almost 2lbs. Thats how I knew to just up my dose to 20x3 and not abandon the drops. The fat from the cheese did me in. The next day I was down 1.5 and am enjoing the non hunger and euphoria of the hHCG.
ok so i will be talked about putting thisout there but I successfully lost 35lbs using the phentermine and hcg together. i have also been able to keep this off in the long run. but i do agree that if u r hungry w/out the phentermine there IS a problem. maybe stop taking it til u get the hcg part down, then add it back in. i agree that it MAY be masking the hungries, but just find out. you won't want to waste any time on trying the hcg if it won't ultimately effect your settin gpoint at the end. good luck!
