    I just picked up my prescription from the pharmacy..it is Novarel 10,000 units...it has to be mixed all at once...:( I am suppose to mix in 10ml of the Bacto. water with it) and then inject 250 units daily..( they gave me Insulin Syringes 3/10 ml, 8mm, 31gauge, which I am to fill to the 25 mark)............From reading I don't think I am suppose to take more that 200 units a day, right? So my questions are ...... (A) should I mix as instructed...10 ml of B. water..then just fill my syringe to the 20 mark...... OR..... (B) should I mix it differently.............OR......(C) should I just do as I am instructed....

    scott has this way of mixing:


    * 1,000iu vial - Add 2 ml bac water
    * 1,500iu vial - Add 3 ml bac water
    * 2,000iu vial - Add 4 ml bac water
    * 5,000iu vial - Add 10 ml bac water
    *10,000iu vial - Add 20 ml bac water


    And here is the amount you would draw for your daily dose. It is the same no matter what size vial you started with.

    .25cc = 125iu HCG
    .30cc = 150iu HCG
    .35cc = 175iu HCG
    .40cc = 200iu HCG

    This makes it really easy to change your dose. And yes 250 is too high to start out with! I'd mix like above and inject 200 iu first and see how you do.

    wow you are fast :) I thought I post in the wrong place for an answer....lol
    ok let me see if I understand ...... take my 10,000 vial and even though he said mix 10 ml of bac water I should mix 20 ml of bac water...
    that would then make the 25 mark, on the syringes I described above, 125 iu of HCG correct?

    Oh I wouldn't start with such a low dose! 175-200 is pretty standard for SQ injections. Unless you're doing it in the muscle? I'd do either .35 or .40.

    pie- or go ahead and mix according to what they said (with 10) and then just take .2 (200). you need the bigger mixing vial otherwise (not sure what you have)

    Thank you, glad you mentioned the bigger vial....didn't think about that....I guess I will have to mix with the 10 and inject 200....
