I am exercising too, I'm not sure yet, I do take it easy, 25 minutes cardio with no hills, then light weights and some stretching and crunches and that's it.

i have exercised since High School...46 now... and rather intensly, spinning, weights, kettle bells, yoga, jump rope, running... I am INTENSE in the gym; however, I used this time r1 and r2 *now* to really heal and only do light weights and yoga and walking and little running... usually in between sets, i started third week last round and think i will start 3rd week this round... tomorrow... :)

I noticed that after an hour 1/2 yoga class, those days would stall or no loss after shorter weight work out with cardio bigger losses...fyi

    hope it is helpful

THIS STATEMENT IS OPINION ONLY, AND NOT BACKED BY ANY REAL PROOF:

I would say that if you've been exercising regularly, CONTINUE with that exercise as your body is already used to it, and will be fine continuing. The caveat to that might be any muscle building exercise as we don't REALLY bring in enough protein and carbs to recover and build appropriately. I would say that gradually building up some cardio would probably be a good thing as long as the cardio that you are doing isn't going to try to create a lot of muscle. (Excessive cardio does build muscle, just not the kind that we think of with body building) I would say that if you are sore at all from your workout, that you went a little too far for being on P2. If you do end up sore in the muscles, chances are good that you will gain weight due to water retention. That can take a while to fully go away (not certain, but could be a week depending on how hard you hit it) and would likely have a negative mental impact due to a stall or gain.

    Anyway, just my 2ยข.

    Thanks.

i would agree to not start heavy weights while on P2 if not used to them. some light toning i think is fine- small hand weights or cuff weights, light weights on the machines (higher reps at a lower weight will tone without causing muscle damage). if you do decide to exercise to any degree, my advice is to eat some carbs before you go (fruit and veggies, to have carbs to burn) and then eat your protein after you're done.
