I used phentermine a couple times and I felt cracked out and yes I know how it feels to be cracked out as I'm a recovered meth user! It was a awful feeling!

Geez! Y'all are hard on the adipex over here lol! I've used it on and off for years. It really doesn't suppress my appetite anymore - hence why I have to try it the "healthy" way (well, I think the HCG is healthy, some out there don't agree). Beestly I PROMISE you... huge difference between cocaine & meth and adipex LOL! I won't do "anything" for adipex :) I will admit though - the first time I ever took one, I was scrubbing my grout within a half hour lol! It was kind of like drinking a pot of coffee. Of course I say that and caffeine, ephedra (when it was legal) and things like that never had the same effect on me as they did alot of other folks I knew. My mom took a metabolife years back and was up for TWO DAYS STRAIGHT LOL!

Meg - that's awesome you came out of that!!! I VERY much admire people like you!

Tee -- I'll tell ya this... I DID take my herbal laxatives last night!!!! WHAAAA! I'll be taking several more tonight I suppose! Maybe the poo fairy will come and visit me! I want an LIW of under 135, nuff said!

That's good to hear, but it's still an amphetamine, maybe just not as strong. I'm working on a brain chemistry project and it will mess up your brain and then some if you do it long enough.

Beestly, I am curious if your brain project includes any information about Cymbalta. Your thoughts?

Curious - what will it do to your brain??? Maybe that's what's wrong with ME and I'm blaming it on age!

twoangels, i started this thread saying no being judgmental allowed and i went and got judgmental on you, so i apologize for that. Lord knows my lazy a** could use a kick in the pants.

I work more on the alt health side of things, but with anti-depressants, you have to look at which pathway they are working on. Cymbalta works on the serotonin pathways, so if that drug works for you, you're probably serotonin deficient. Drugs do not boost your serotonin levels, they only prevent them from clearing out.

You can actually boost your serotonin levels using natural means, and enhance those pathways. Plus you'll want to look at why you're deficient or why there is depression, which is just a frontal cortex issue. There are so many factors.

People get down on natural medicine, but the FDA has only cleared anti-depressants for short-term urgent care use, like suicidal tendencies (although with a few people i know they actually trigger suicide). They were not designed for long-term use like they're being used.

amy, it will rapidly deplete you of dopamine, an important neurotransmitter in the brain. It is the neurotransmitter that allows you to feel pleasure, that givess you motivation, and a sense of self-worth.

It will raise your adrenal hormones. When they get too high it weakens your immune system, weakens your gut, weakens your blood-brain barrier, opening you up to more possible problems. They will definitely rapidly degenerate the brain. We all experience brain degeneration on an ongoing basis, but some things will speed it up, and as you can imagine "speed" will speed up brain degeneration. There is a poster that shows brain loss from various substances, from nicotine to amphetamine. As you can imagine, it's way high for amphetamines. Of course meth is going to be more destructive than a diet drug, but my experience with diet drugs is they are still really powerful.

So in a nutshell you get holes in your brain. We all brain lesions to some degree. It's just the degree of brain lesions i personally am concerned with.
