Tee, I am on that other board too, not much lately. I am screen name photobug over there. :)). Gee, its been months since I visited there. They aren't as fun as this one is at times.

and .....(slowly stepping out of the closet....) the rogue that tee referred to who went 63 days on injections is me....I did it thru a clinic, didn't have any immunity issues, and stabilized fine after the round.

I wasn't talking about you or any one person, Barb. I was talking about the general atmosphere of this thread and how it might confuse those who are just starting. Following what a doctor says is very different. I just want to warn all the newbies who are jumping onto the forum that deliberately not following the protocol can lead to some not so good results. :-(

I agree with grammy that newbies really need to be careful in reading this thread, I am of the opinion that following the protocol exactly is the best way to do it. Especially the very first round. Having said that, I have no problem with people shaking it up a little as long as they know the risk and let other know that it is off protocol so that no one is confused by that. That is why this rogue thread is good because it lets people know, this is not on protocol. I followed protocol exactly my first two rounds. I have done some small motifications this round but only because I know what to expect and what works for me and if something doesn't work I change it back quickly. I am also not making big changes either, very minor protien changes and I did add in coconut oil every few days for my gallbladder, though I now have an herbal remidy I'm going to try. But if you do go rogue and you aren't losing like you should then I would suggest you go back on protocol. I also don't think it's a good idea to go rogue in P3. In P2 going rogue mostly affects how much weight you lose, in P3 it can affect your stabilizing, which, lets face it is why we are doing hcg in the first place. I do hope everyone feels comfortable sharing what they are doing and doesn't feel like anybody is judging you. We are all here to support and get ideas from each other. I love this forum, it has made my hcg journey much better. :-)

Very true, rocky! If people want to try something, a middle round is the time to do it. But make sure our sweet newbies know what they are doing is off protocol. I'm just worried about our new people. There are a TON of new ones since the first of the year. And quite honestly, I spend sooo much time advising people how to get back on track when they've gotten off protocol. I get worn out just answering questions that wouldn't be asked in the first place if people would read and follow Pounds and Inches. I love helping but Dr S did a ton of research on this protocol. He found which foods work, how much time off was needed, so many things. Just follow what he said!

Barb~ I wasn't going to out you! You know I would never do that!!!

The thing that people talk about on the other site is making sure you do your first round by the book. Yes, making changes or adding things is a "at your own risk" deal. You have to know the consequence and be mentally prepared for it to happen. When it does you have to suck it u, take it as a learning exp, and keep it moving. And yes, this thread is diff not for newbies!!!

:))) no worries Tee, I know you wouldn't, but I have mentioned it on enough threads that I am pretty "out" anyhow. tee hee....I don't catch much flack for it....usually. Every now and then someone tells me how horrible that was...but heck, it was last march, april and may...ancient history now. LOL.

The whole newbie corruption issue is a good point. It seems alot of these guys are going thru clinics that allow alot of different things anyway....I really worry when your "pure" version of protocol is not so pure to start with...and then you compound it by adding even more things in. I think your result is apt to be better if you are just a "one off" version as opposed to more than that.

That's fine Colleen, the point is for people to have a place not to feel "spanked" if they do go rogue, which has been an issue for us. So if you want to stay on this thread, please keep that in mind. I also think there is a lot of valuable info to be gleaned. If coconut oil were more popular in Dr. S's day i'm sure he would have experimented with it, given what we know about it today. Also the protocol is NOT working as it should for some. It didn't for me last round, although my bad beginning (and hhcg is totally rogue yet that is acceptable on this forum?) may be totally why.

Fruit still does not work for me. I can guarantee blood sugar issues are much worse today than they were in Dr. S's time. The "food" i grew up eating and that left me permanently damaged did not exist 60 years ago. Although i'm better with that this round, eating an apple still makes me totally wonky so i won't do it. I'm gluten-intolerant so i won't eat toast or breadsticks. Isn't that going rogue? Also, the excerpt Margie posted toward the beginning was a great intro into the diet and how to interpret it.

I think the warning to newbies is a good one. I will edit the OP to include that. We rebels just need a place to congregate in peace.

And rocky, i find i always agree with everything you say, lol.

There are doctors out there who say that parts of his protocol are obsolete because of all the changes that have occured. Just think...if medical research stopped 50 years ago, where would we be today? That's a very scary thought. So again....because of all the things we know now that we didn't know then, who says HIS protocol can't be improved?

I'm a perfect example of progress. I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia in 1993. Guess what? Back then most of the doctors didn't know what it was let alone how to treat it. I went from doctor to doctor to doctor...most treating me like a mental case. Now they make drugs specifically for fibromyalgia! Thank God someone persevered and didn't stop 20 years ago. Enough said?

Petrolatum: I read in wikipedia that petrolatum is an oil-based product but it is not absorbed through the skin.

Adipoze, if you do some research you'll find you can get rid of that fibro with the proper thyroid meds. I did. It's a case of the old medicine being better actually. They used to diagnose thyroid by clinical symptoms, not blood work. Then they got that tsh test which tells you nothing and started not correcting thyroid right. And they use that crappy synthroid which is a problem for most people, especially women, because they have issues converting T4 to T3. When the doctor gives you natural thyroid and ENOUGH of it, the fibro goes away and you don't have to take that fibro med. That stuff totally messed with my mind too. Changed my personality. I just hated it. I feel fabulous now. :-)

People are all adults. There is no "spanking" going on. On any thread. Sheesh. But I'm going to make sure our new little chicks know the right protocol. :-) People can take it or leave it but they need to know the standard or they can't judge what is working for them. I wouldn't have been so concerned if it weren't for the HUGE influx of newbies. So please everyone be conscious of that. We have a responsibility to them too.
