i am going to the new beginnings center in wellington florida on Thrusday april 9th for the first time. I am very excited to begin. I just wanted to know how you guys did between the 40 day resting periods for the 6 weeks. I need to loose 100lbs and will definitly have to de at least 3 protocals i am sure. Very worried the body will absorb calories without being on the shots since you eat so little calories during the 40 days. any thoughts or experiences would be helpful. thanks

hi- i've been on phase 3 for a week and although i haven't gained any, i haven't lost either, in spite of eating very healthy and no carbs. that tells me my metabolism has decreased.....sigh..... i know you're supposed to stay the same, but for people who are not going to do more shots, i'm not sure what will happen.

I'm on p3 now, the reset time for 3 weeks. Lost 25 lbs on p2 the VLCD. Wanted to lose more but I'll definately take it. I'll take a break on p4 for a while and then do another round of p2 in June or July for another 25-35 lbs. On p3 your metabolism is being reset to handle fats, calories and sugar and your weight should stabalize at your LIW - last injection weight. Then on p4 you carefully and gradually introduce carbs, sugar, honey etc in normal eating and should not gain more than 2 lbs on any day. Than at some point you can do another round. It might depend on exactly which protocol you do. Read Dr Simeons 'pounds and inches', Kevin Trudeau's book and everything else you can about HCG. Dr S was the original dr who developed this in the 1950s as a weight loss CURE, not a diet. So if done correctly it will reset your metabolism -- permanently and then when finished with the CURE you can eat anything in moderation with no weight gain, ever. Yes, it may take 2-3 rounds to lose all the weight you want but just keep on the program and it will work. Be aware of the many clinics and doctors who have tweaked this protocol to add different foods, more foods, more calories and so it may take longer to achieve the goal. We don't know if their program actually works as a CURE as Dr Simeons protocol. Personally I'm sticking to Dr S cause we know with 60 years of research - it works. Also read the info and Bob's posts on this website and his website with a LOT of good info. Best of luck.

i was trying to avoid going back on the shots because they made me so nauseous. i had an appt today with a weight loss clinic, and decided to try them for a while- although i must say the gal had much more confidence in what they can do than i do! their protein bars were much better than atkin's, but i was pretty disgusted to see that they had a small amount of trans fats in them. trans fats from a weight loss clinic? what ARE they thinking? but they are probably battling against people who won't eat anything they don't like, either. at this point my weight is much more of a hazard than a few trans fats, so i'll eat them in the short run. they say my weight loss will go more slowly given all my health problems, but they still think i can average a solid 2# a week. that puts me at about the same point i'd be by thanksgiving if i did the shots, considering all the time i wouldn't be losing weight in-between rounds.

you don't get to eat as much as you would in phase 3, but you do get more carbs- and my body seems to function better with some whole grains, and a lot more fruit. and you don't have to deal with the extreme boredom of the phase 2 restrictions. recently i've read a bit about some people getting hcg shots once a week- i'm wondering what that is about. i see my doc in a week, and i'm going to ask what would happen if i used a smaller amount of hcg in conjunction with this new program. i know none of these things are part of the official "cure", but that program was designed to be the best they could figure out for a large percentage of patients- and obviously people react differently. i'm hoping that if i get down to about 150, then i'll do the short protocol to try and reset my hypothalamus, and follow through from there. wish me luck!
