The only problem I see is the sodium content. It might make you stall for a while if you aren't use to that much sodium. All sauerkraut is is cabbage, vinager and salt. I know this was addressed in another thread and it was deamed as ok.
I've lost 47 pounds on 2 rounds of the diet - and ate Bubbies sauerkraut every day - it's only cabbage and salt - the whole bottle is only 14 calories. It's a life saver on the diet as it takes a long time to eat and generally regulates elimination - any water weight from the salt is easy to get off - just no salt for a few days Hope this is helpful!
you could try rinsing it before you eat it to elimate some of the excess salt. My mom does that because she can't handle salt at all and has no problem with it.
I am not sure how kraut is made but I steam shredded cabbage in a steam bag with salt, pepper and vinegar in the microwave and it is delish and is very similar to kraut. Then you know exactly what you are eating
