I am pretty sure I am still addicted to foods that got me here int he first place. Today was supposed to be another steak day. it was all good (we take the kids out to eat and somewhere as a family every weekend because my husband works night and don't get to see them every day) until we got to cracker barrell. i ordered my steak and a salad (i have had success with this every time) it was just iceberg lettuce tomatoes and onions. the sides i ordered were mashed potatoes, mac n cheese and cinnamon apples - all for my 2yr old. BUT they brought the dang biscuits to the table man . . . . . i had one, a whole one with butter. And it still tastes good! Some of my tastes for food have changed but not the bread ones! i could smash any donut, biscuit or plain piece of bread u put in front of me! I already know what to expect on the scales inthe AM. Also doesn't help when we got home that me and my little one laid down for a nap so NO physical movement to help burn up the food. SO, in preparation for my January round . . . . . . is there anything i can do EXCEPT just sit myself down and get serious???? A candida cleanse? what is it and what kind of treatment should i expect?? where can i get it?? GNC?? kinda dissapointed but at least no more soda for me, it gives me a headache. . . . . TIA guys. u r the best!

cognebene...if GP was here, he would whomp you with a big ol cheese stick for that one!! LOL. Usually candida cleanses are for cravings for sweets....but white flour carbs are a close cousin. Most pharmacies have the cleanses...check in the vitamin section. I have never done one, but I don't think they give you the runs. :)) I think I have heard some get a headache from the candida dying off.

DH I and I have gotten off the bread and biscuit thing at restaurants by asking the wait person when we place our order to NOT bring any bread to the table. If its not on the table, you are less tempted. If its on the table, you are going to reach for it while you are waiting for your food. If your family wants it, ask for a plate of celery and cream cheese for yourself...so you have something to munch on while they eat the bread.

Bottom line, as said above....we are all human. And one biscuit won't do you in either. Don't be so hard on yourself. :)))))

I know this sucks to hear, but the times I have felt my willpower grow are when I win the battle. During my 2 rounds I had about 3 times where I was going to cheat. I mean, had it in front of me and sat there for an hour arguing with myself about why I needed it :)

Each time I was almost in tears (sad), and ended up walking away.

I cannot tell you what that did for me the next day. I felt so much stronger and my confidence and ability to stay in control went off the charts. I know we won't be perfect all the time, but winning the battle more times than not, really makes a difference.

That is so true Jen, I had to go to my first restaurant since starting the protocol yesterday. Went to Olive Garden with my mother and sister. Neither of them know that I am on this plan. Anyway, I looked at that menu and thought HMMM I could cheat today, then I decided on a plain salad of which I only ate the lettuce and a plain grilled chicken breast with water to drink. I was soooo proud of myself. It felt good to be able to do that and get totally full knowing that I stuck to the plan! Plus I have to admit it did taste really good also. The bonus is I was down another 1.5 lbs this morning so if I would have given in that would not have happened. HEHE Yippee!!!

Never forget that feeling. I am so proud of you. Doesn't that make you feel like you can do anything? Every decision you make like that breaks the cycle of food controlling us. Every time you tell your body that you are in control and will not give in to emotional needs, it will get easier and easier. I honestly believe that what you just did right there is the true "secret" and beauty of HCG. If you follow it, it will give you your life back with you in complete control. AWESOME!!

I also ask the waiter to please keep the bread away from my table...hehe They sometimes look at you strangely...and I just smile!

Congratulations to all of you who have remained strong!

mcognibene - First and foremost, you must realize that every time you go out to eat, there may be a temptation. This is the very reason I prefer eating at home. I can visit with my family at home and eat healthy food instead of going somewhere that I know will be temptations.

Thankfully, there are some wonderful new restaurants in Houston which have very healthy food, some have organic foods too! I believe our society thinks socializing means eating too. The holidays are times to spend with our families and we have to be strong to stay away from the sugars and starches.

I also have read so many articles about white flour and sugar which have made me vow to stay away from them. Did you know if sugar was a food being added to the industry in today's time, it would be classified as an addictive drug!

The next thing I remember about white flour is how deficient it is in nutrients. It really is "garbage" and once you start eating whole grain products, you will feel the difference. The white flour is processed where it is void of the outer covering and the germ of the grain. Then, they put back in a little "enriched" ingredients! This stays in my mind EVERY time I see a white flour product and keeps me strong to back away from it!!!

God bless you all and may God give you the strength and knowledge to see that our bodies are temples. We should treat them well, because God already lives there.

God made every food perfect. Why have men and women felt the need to change these perfect foods?

As for the Candida Cleanse, there are a lot of good products. In some cleanses they advise to stay away from sugars, white flour, white rice, potatoes, and fruit . All of these foods contribute to yeast overgrowth.
