I add Vanilla Creme to most my teas, Valencia Orange to my lemonade, Husband adds Chocolate Raspberry to his strawberry smoothie and Rootbeer is my favorite in mineral water. Peppermint and Lemon are ordered an on their way...
I am from PA and I am just going to start this weekend. Thanks so much for all of your posts!! Can anyone tell me where to buy stevia? Anyone from PA know of any food chains that sell it?
Can someone please tell me where to get fat-free (HCG protocol friendly) shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, etc? I need brand names and QUICK!! Planning to start mid-next week! Thank you!
Lots of us use our regular stuff, just do not rub it into the scalp, and rinse well. I used baking soda for my teeth, Tom's of Maine is a good alternative. Plain old baby oil, or mineral oil from the drug store for skin, apply just out of shower/bath and rub until you get dry. It is not utilized as a fat in the body. Bare Minerals for the make up if you use that type of thing. Nutrogena oil-free moisturizer for the face. Of course there are lots of specialy items you could get at the health food store, depends on the budget...try to stay away from anything that has sugars in it as well. Good luck on your journey!
You guys are so awesome for giving all the hints/tips. I started loading today but feel so discustingly FAT!! But I know it has to be done. I am just ready for the pounds to start coming off. I am worried though. It seems like a lot of people have had issues of some sort. I'm worried because I have hypothyroidism and am going off my meds while on the diet. Worried about being very, very tired. I saw that some people said they did B-12, Calcium, Potassium, and Magnesium Citrate. Are these all safe while on the diet, I mean taking them won't stall weight loss will they? Can anyone give good brands for these supplements. Also, I did not do the "cleansing phase". What kinds of detoxifiers can I take while on the diet? Thanks for any info!!!
blue, are you sure you should be off the RX during the diet?? I have read that some need to have their dosage changed after the weight loss, but have not heard of anyone "stopping" RX for the diet. I am not aware of stalling on Natural Calm, it was allowed by my Naturopath. Some other things that can help, while not on "protocol" of Dr. Simeon's were Emergen-C (lite only), mineral water sweetened with stevia, lots of flavors by Sweet leaf, the valencia orange makes a great orange crush! I did not do the Trudeau program, just read Pounds & inches by Dr Simeon's. You body will already be doing a detox by utilizing your stores of fat as energy. Lots of people used detox teas for help with getting things moving, but the Natural Calm will address that issue. I do use the "detox baths" 1C Epsom salt 1 C baking soda, 1 c sea salt in a tub of hot water. If all you have is the Epsom, available at any drug store cheap, use just that. (Everyone's budget is different, do the best you can with what you have!) I have had great success on my first round, going again in 2 weeks! good luck!
Blue-eye-girl, I'm also hypothyroid and I take Armour (or Erfa right now due to the shortage) and I am continuing to take them. My weight loss has been great (doing homeopathic drops). You should not stop your thyroid meds.
These were a few things that I did to help prepare for my hhcg diet. First, I took a look at what I thought would be difficult things to overcome (beside eating 500 cals per day!) that I was currently doing. For me, I am an early breakfast eater, and I knew it would be difficult for me to not eat anything until 10 or 10:30 in the morning. Also, I love cream and splenda in my morning coffee. About a week before the diet, I went through the withdrawals and starting waiting to eat breakfast until after 10, and I started drinking my coffee black with flavored stevia drops. I played with it until a found a taste I could live with! Once the diet started, I had already adjusted to these things and it made the diet so much easier to transition into.
So, I would recommend taking a look at your current eating and drinking habits and start making adjustments now. The fewer withdrawals you have to go through at once, the better!
