READ POUNDS AND INCHES OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!!
Definitely measure yourself. And measure every week. It really helps keep up the motivation. Have a good DIGITAL scale. One that measures accurately to the .2#. Use the bathroom before weighing in, and don't skip a weigh in.
Eat your fruit everyday, and try to make those apples or strawberries. Apples helped me the most.
Drink half your weight in water. If you weight 210# drink 105 ounces of water. DON'T SKIMP ON THE WATER!!!
If you eat beef have it as your lunch and not your dinner.
Never eat after 7:00 pm.
Clean out all your cupboards and don't go to the store hungry. Even if you go to Target to get a new shirt, don't go hungry. The food in the check out lane will be very tempting! Also if you have to go to the store take your fruit and water with you. It will help keep you in check.
Invest in Sea Salt and Braggs Amino Acids. The Braggs was great for marinating and Sea Salt is better for not retaining water.
Take B-12, potassium, and magnesium citrate. B-12 will give you energy, potassium will help you not get legs cramps, and the magnesium will help keep things flowing!
Don't read about what you can eat later on. It doesn't help you at all with your mindset.
1) DO check out the recipes for P2. I was eating such boring food early during P2 and I really think it is what caused me to cheat. Once I discovered these great recipes, I couldn't wait to make something new every day.
2) Take your B-12 and potassium religiously. It helps with your energy level and the potassium eliminated cramping for me.
3) Skip the melba toast and breadsticks, if you can. It only makes you crave carbs.
Ditto on the take pictures thing. I should have taken pictures before I started. I planned to, then never got around do it.
Don't get over-confident. Just because you do something and get away with it doesn't mean you can keep doing it. I had pretty good losses my first round, so I expected the same results in R2. I wasn't as careful about watching my food, and I think this led to some long stalls in the first half of R2. In the last part of R2 I have done much better watching my food intake, and my losses have been very good.
The same goes for P3 and P4. I have a friend who did really well in R1 and R2. He lost over 100 pounds over 3 rounds, but this last round it seems like he hasn't been as careful. He eats things I would never dream of eating, and it is starting to catch up to him. He was telling me he is having trouble stabilizing. His weight keeps inching up...up...up. Well, in my opinion, if he would stop cheating, he wouldn't have any trouble at all. So, having seen the problems he is having, I plan to take it slow and learn from his mistakes. Yes, there are people out there who can cheat big and not gain. But, I feel that their lack of caution will eventually catch up to them. If I get over-confident and think that I can do that, I will certainly set myself up for failure.
I'm trying to get rid of the mindset that I deserve to treat myself because I have been so good with the diet. What I deserve for my effort is to be thin. Isn't that reward enough?
also, cabbage seems to slow down weight for a few. Did for me and hurt my stomach. Also many dont eat beef and tomatoes together - seems to cause stalls or gains.
