The first week on HGC was incredible. I lost 8 pounds....some of it must have been water weight. But, I felt good. In the mornings I am more alert not cloudy or fuzzy like before. My dilemma is week 2 and now week 3 I am hungry. My belly is full but I just want to eat. I was afraid to leave the house over weekend b/c I just wanted to eat everything.

Due to being out of shape (and in the military) I am doing a hard core physical training session 4 times a week. Usually, I have to eat an apple immediately after or I can't make it home. However, during the PT session I have energy.

Will using Stevia (NuStevia) cause me to have food cravings due to it's sweetness? Will the exercise help or hinder my success? It's a mandatory activity so I am not able to quit. Will eating my melba toast outside of the two meals be counter productive?

    thanks

monika, are you doing shots or sub lingual drops? If shot, then you may need to remix if you havent already. If drops, you may need to increase your dosage or number of drops. Also, you may want to eat your apple before your PT session, so your body has glucose available to burn for the exercise. Also try breaking your meals up so you can eat something every 2 to 3 hours. As a last resort, if you are really hungry...munch on some celery or cucumber...something that has almost no calories in it. Also some broth as in the broth in a box stuff...warm that up and sip it...its like soup but only 10 calories. You could also look into an appetite suppressant if none of the above work. Just make sure it doesn;'t have sugar in it.

Stevia should not increase your food cravings, since your body does not react to it like it does to other artificial sweetners.

I hope this helps :) Hang in there. Sometimes you have to tinker with things to get it to work.

try eating your fruit before, and some protein immediately after working out.

Barb and mgsondance...I am doing drops. Thanks for the quick response and info. I did half an apple before pt and it helped and will try the protein after PT tomorrow. The broth sounds really good.

I know the cravings are mental....but they're so strong. I want things I would never eat otherwise.

    thanks

monika- severe cravings can also be associated with low levels of certain amino acids, and that can be from eating too little protein. with as much heavy exercise as you're doing, you might want to increase your meat portion by an ounce or two. or add some egg whites in the morning.

    Monika;

You might want to try this what I did. This time , on R2, I just had to eat breakfast or I could not work through the morning and I have to be sharp as I am a judge and need to keep up with the crafty lawyers. Every other day I mixed a Sr. S. omelet--1 whole egg and three egg whites, a little salt, onion powder and paprika, then I ate half each day. It really helped and did not seem to stall my weight loss.

Sorry--I meant Dr. S. omelet, named after his suggestion in Pounds and Inches.

    Monika..
I found that when I did a workout...sometimes I just needed a little extra protein. I usually increased my portion by 25 oz of COOKED.....I guess that would translate to 50 oz uncooked.

I usually got a bunch of meat....weighed and cooked it all at once....so that is what I did to keep the scales moving and keep myself from eating the table.

Thanks everyone for all the tips.

haelsoma....I will definitely do the omelet suggestion. I am in Korea, don't have a vehicle and must carry everything in a backpack. It takes my twice as long to get to work when I don't eat.

lis/mgsondance...I have added a little bit more of protein and it makes a huge difference. My weight is starting to come off again.

I have ordered some vital vitamins and minerals that should help me, as well.

I really appreciate the help/tips. I can relax a little bit now and not worry about attacking someone with a burger in their hand.

glad to hear it's helping- i think it's probably necessary, due to your heavy workouts. we would NOT want to read the following headline:

"Crazed dieter attacks total stranger and steals his Whopper".... :)
