Hi Debkru, You said your sauce was thick. That is how I would want mine. Can you give me the measurements you used? Thanks. I can't wait to try, but I won't be going into phase 3 until Wed. I'm not sure I want to risk having it the first week in phase 3.
kathy, I just kinda made it up as I went along..so no measurements. so..as a sacrifice I guess I will have to make it again and measure everything (lol). I'll try getting back to you asap. Kathy, this does not cause wt gain unless you are sensitive to dairy. I tried the mug cake rt away (like day 3) and it was NO problem. These are P3 friendly recipes!
Ok. I made the sacrifice and made another batch of chocolate sauce..: ) Boy my "guestimate" was waay off! OK. These are the REAL measurements:
1 Tablespoon butter 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 tablespoon xylitol (several little packets) 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 1/4 tsp almond extract
In a heavy saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add cream. whisk in cocoa and xylitol. Keep whisking it. Bring to a very low boil. Let it boil while whisking constantly for one minute. Remove from heat and stir in extracts. Serve warm over mug cake OR spread on a paper plate and freeze into candy. After it hardens in the freezer, you can spread natural peanut butter on it..yum! This makes kind of a "dark chocolate" tasting sauce. If you want it sweeter, just add more of the sweetener to taste.
