Thank you so much for starting this thread for me. I have been a basket case all day today. I came home to get the kids situated & I will be heading back up there EARLY tomorrow morning & will be staying for a very long time. Everything just hit me when I got home a little while ago & then I read this thread. ALL of you will never know how much you have touched my life. God directed me to this forum & I am sure of it. In the past month I have met some of the most amazing people & I am proud to call each & everyone of you my friend. You have been there for me not only for this diet, but with what is going on right now.

For those of you who I am friends with on Facebook on took it upon themselves to click on Elmers heart transplant fund page & actually donate, I can not thank you enough. I believe now that God directed you there. I had no idea how I was going to survive financially while he was up there. It is expensive & we literally were out of money. Those donations helped & will help me through at least the next couple of days. I cannot express to you my gratitude for all your acts of love & kindness.

To all of you who have read this page & posted your good wishes & prayers thank you. You have no idea how much that means to me. I cried through this entire thread & am trying to see to type this. There are some of you on here that know me better than others because of all the talking we do & it helps me so much to know I can log on & talk to you guys & you make me feel so much better.

I'm not sure how I am going to handle P3 being up at the hospital but I am going to try & stay on track as much as I can. I do not want to gain back what I have lost & I know stress causes weight gain as well as lack of sleep so please keep me in your prayers!

With all my love & gratitude
    Annette

Oh my goodness....I had no idea about this until now. My thoughts and prayers are with you Annette. The pressures you speak of are probably pulmonary artery pressures. The wires are a monitor of those pressures called a swan ganz catheter. It is a delicate balance, especially with a stressed heart. I know you and Elmer are in great hands, with many knowledgeable and caring people watching over and taking care of you both. ((((((hugs!))))))))

Ilovekats - yes that is exactly what it is!! I'm assuming (because I have also read some of your other posts!) that you are a RN? The pulmonary pressures have stressed his heart tremendously which has greatly added to his already failing heart. They are keeping the swan in to keep a constant measure right now. In May of 06 he went into sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 42 & they revived him 17 times on the scene. The entire front part of his heart was damaged by this. He also suffers from ischemic cardiomyopathy & congestive heart failery & also likes to go into ventricular vebrillation. His maximum life expectancy is 5 years & we have been trucking along for the past 3-1/2 so we knew unless God did an big intervention he would start to decline & we kinda had a feeling he would decline fast. Which is what is happening now. I have faith though that the perfect strong heart is only a matter of days away now! I thank you for your prayers. I'm sure with your knowledge of this you have a great understanding for the critical point we are at right now. His top pressue was at 90 something when they did the first measurement in the cath lab yesterday. I didn't get to see what the mean ended up being but with that being a 90 I'm sure it was high. When I left last night the mean was floating around between 22-32. They were still adding meds when I left.

Once again, thank you everyone for your continued prayers & support. I got maybe 3-1/2 - 4 hours sleep. Right now I'm up getting ready to hop in the shower, pack a few healthy snacks & head back up to SF - hoping to beat all the traffic! I will try to log on through out the day. Keep praying, your prayers are helping making a difference!!

    Love
    Annette

    Annette:

I will say a special Jewish healing prayer for your husband in synagogue on Saturday. I would like to contribute, but don't do Facebook. Let me know how.
