I have been back and forth a bit wondering if I should stop Phase 2 (Round 1) now (for the holidays) and pick up Round 2 in January.
I know this is a personal decision and one which I alone can make for myself.
I need to lose 60 - 70 more pounds.
I have been on the drops for 25 days (including 2 load days) and I have lost a total of 15 pounds (give or take a few ounces). I have lost 5 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I have been hovering and stalling which was discouraging to me at first but I know that the HCG is working "behind the scenes" and is addressing those fat stores.
I have had wonderful feedback and really appreciate it.
I have a question - what is the benefit of staying on for another week or 2? (Besides MAYBE losing a few more pounds?)
Thank you for sharing your experience with us newbies!!
I am in the same boat. Since starting P2, I have lost about 12 or 13 lbs net in 27 days. At first I was losing really well, and then I stalled. I had originally planned to go through the holidays on P2, but I am frustrated. I could have taken an apple day, but with so many social events coming up, I decided to stop my injections this past Monday and do a short P3 until Thanksgiving is over. That will give me about 2 weeks of P2 left to end the round.
This round I didn't cheat with foods that weren't on the P2 menu, but getting my dose right was difficult, so I ate more than I should sometimes just to preserve my sanity. I think I know what to do when I get back on P2. In the mean time, I'm going to enjoy some lo-carb holiday cheer.
Same boat. Yesterday was going to be my first day of P3, but i decided to push through. I got very discouraged by a 9-day stall (ouch!). After i decided to persevere, i lost half a pound two days in a row. Today i gained them back, sigh.
I''m wired to do things the most difficult and trying way possible is what i've decided. I've dealt with a lot of hunger on P2, which has made it difficult. My batch is getting old and my new hcg, which i paid extra for rushed delivery, still isn't here. If i go another 10 days not losing any weight, i will be bummed. I'm fairly burned out right now.
I upped my dose yesterday and am feeling better this morning, so i haven't given up hope. Right now it's just an endurance test. Not losing weight takes all the joy out of it.
When I start again, I'm going to journal my food as accurately as I can. That should give me a better idea of what foods affect me. One of the problems with this round is the availability of good food. I love strawberries, but they are expensive now, and not nearly as good as what was available several months ago. Cucumbers were also a staple in my last round, but it's harder to find good ones during the winter. I love broccoli and I have had it before without problems, but I need to keep better records to see if maybe it is part of my stall problem. I have eaten mostly beef this round, and that could also be a factor. I was losing really well at first on roast beef, but I've been in such a stall, I think I will stick to mostly chicken when I resume P2. I can't seem to break the 240 barrier. I get close and then hover and gain. Bummer.
russ, how long has your stall been? If i'm still not losing tomorrow i need to throw in the towel since i've already had a nine-day stall. I don't think it's good for a body to learn how not to lose on so few calories. Although i upped my dose to 250 yesterday and am feeling amazingly good today, not hungry *at all*, which is unusual for me! Hopefully the scale notices.
I did 250 before and felt great, but then after a week or so started to get hungry so i dropped to 200 again, but then i got hungrier sooner. So i think if i start to get hungry at 250, i'll just skip a day.
I was stalled for about a week around 242lbs, with just minor variations in weight. Then I dropped a pound one day. I thought I was going to see some progress. The next day I was up a little instead of down. I go up and down, but basically stay around 241lbs. I've been into the 240.6, 240.8, etc, but can't get into the 239 range. I have battled hunger issues and recently tried .200. That seems to help, but I think my hCG needs remixing. I decided to just take a break and remix after I resume. I'm discouraged, but I know there are changes taking place. I recently started using a new belt notch, even during the stall. So, I think it's just a matter of starting again after the break with a new resolve to tough it out for 2 weeks and not cheat myself out of my goal. I would like to get as close as possible to 230lbs this round.
Sounds so much like me! I'm stuck at 206.6. I actually got down to 205.4 yesterday, today back up to 206.6. That's why i have been very undecided about moving on to P3 or sticking it out. I guess i'll stick it out to see what happens. That way i can make an educated decision for subsequent rounds.
I'm no expert, but you may want to try upping your dose. On other online sources, people go up to 250 and even 300 iu subq. 250 seems to work much better for me than 200 did. I was always a little hungry at 200 and didn't understand how people could skip breakfast and only eat 500 cal. Today it was no problem skipping breakfast for me, and i think i'll do fine on 500 as long as i feel this way. I still crave eating more, but am not hungry. I think bc i have been eating more, it will take a few days to adjust to just 500 cal. I have been eating closer to 800 or even 1000 every day.
something to consider- i see many people now losing HUGE amounts of weight in the beginning- some are at a 1.5 to 2# per day average over their first week or 10 days. keep in mind that this can not be "reality". any way you look at it, you have to have a 3500 calorie deficit in order to lose a pound. i think the reason we are not allowed to stop after a wk or 2 is that we'd immediately gain much of that weight back (thus i say is isn't a "real" loss). so if you're not losing much in wk 3 or wk 4, i think your body is catching up to those huge losses from the beginning. i lost well for the first week, and my average over the past 13 days has only been .37 per day. BUT, if i average out my losses over the length of the round, i'll end up at about 1/2# per day, which is in the average range for women (.5 to .75/day).
i know everyone wants to be the exception to the average, and when you start out losing huge amounts you think you will be. but most women will end up somewhere within that average range. so please try not to look at it like you're not losing much toward the end, but instead concentrate on the total amount you've lost over the course of your round. i think those with slower losses toward the end may actually stabilize more easily, since their body has already "settled in" in terms of their losses.
2 mo from now it will not matter that you had some days at .2, or zero loss. what will matter is the amount you lost per round, and whether or not you keep it off. you may also notice (as i have) that you lose more weight at the beginning, but you lose more inches and more body fat in the 2nd half of your round.
Margie - Yes, and stabilization is soooo important. If you really think about it we cannot say what our loss was in a round until we have completed through P4.
