I want to get started on the HCG program now and have 20lbs to lose, however I am going to Vegas on Dec. 11 and know I will eat more than I am allowed and will drink alcohol. Will this completely blow my chances of being successful on this program?
That would be during your first week of P3 when it's most critical as far as stabilizing goes. There would be lots of food you could eat as long as you stayed away from the desserts and starches but the drinking would probably be a bad idea. I'd hate to see you go through all this and then have a big gain.
If you know that you will not be able to stay on the diet it might be best to wait.
Alot of people drink alcohol on phase 3, you'll just want to watch what you drink...wine is a good choice. Some people get away with some vodka. You still have a wide variety of choices as far as food just as long as you stay aware from those sweets and starches! This program has a lot to do with self control, and once you pass phase 2 you will cherish the weight loss and will be extra careful on phase 3, but still have a good time!
If you have my experience you won't be too hungry your first week of P3. You can eat all sorts of steak and stuff in vegas, can't you? You will learn all sorts of self control on P2.. you just may be able to manage it just fine.
Thank you all, that sounds completely possible :) As long as I can eat the steak, I will have already gotten used to no sweets or starches so I will be good and wine or vodka are the only things I really like to drink. I'm going to stay on this forum for support, I know I will need it.
I find interesting that people are able to drink wine in P3. It's loaded with sugars. I would think the better options if you wanted some drinks would be the vodka or even rum...
I read that too, I just don't don't understand why it's allowed and so many other things should be avoided. I suppose it's because wine does have other health benefits. Though I'm not sure the studies were done back when the original protocol was made to have him put the stamp of approval on it. Then again he apparently was wise to the fact of HCG when many others still dispute it... Bryan
