Can a Jewish fellow reader say how much I was moved by all of your stories? My faith is a little more restrained, but I still feel the presence of Gd--we don't write the whole name out of respect--in my daily life and admire you all for your faith.
Colleen: I am so proud of you. I always wanted to write creatively but went in a different direction. I was a lawyer and now a judge. I can't wait to read your works and am now ordering Anathema from Amazon. I am very interested in the Amish as I think they have some traits in commmon with Jews.
Anyway good luck to all and with Gd's help we will be successful in all we do.
Oh Hazel, I LOVE the Jewish people! When I read the Bible, I feel I am a Jew. Maybe that sounds silly but we believe in the same Gd. I love that you don't write His name out of respect. We should all have that same awe and reverence. I have some Amish friends that I so love and admire. One of the traits they have is their total acceptance of whether good or bad comes from His hand. It's amazing to watch! Colleen
Colleen, we are very good friends with several Amish families in Holmes County, Ohio, which is the largest Amish community (bigger than PA even though PA is more famous). My husband even stays in their homes when he goes there to photograph. He is a wildlife photographer (One of his latest covers was the Nov issue of Field and Stream). We love going to Amish country even though I gain about 5 lbs (ok, this was in the past : ) every time we go due to the wonderful cooking and baking. I want to read Anathema too..
Hey, all you evangelists! You made ME cry now. Just happy tears about how the Spirit is moving. Which if you see on P3 lounge is moving significantly better than other things in me right now.
Nutshell, ditto. It is a necessary skill God cultivated to help me deal with great pains like the rest of you. If you can't cry anymore...figure out how to laugh. When you are in the middle of the hurricane and can't find the silver lining in the clouds......look for the silver lining in the flashlight and then laugh about how ridiculous that sounds.
Hey guys my friend sent me this today on Facebook (yes I am a Facebook addict LOL you can add me: annette baugh soriano ) I wanted to share it with all of you : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YU0aNAHXP0 if you can't watch it from there & your my friend on facebook you will see it on my profile it is called the invisible women & it is awesome to watch!!!
Lisa - my luck the flashlight batteries would be dead LOL between my kids & grandkids they are always stealing all my batteries :/
Grammy, I just bought one of your books at the Christian Bookstore today. I'm sure you know this already...but apparentlly, they've been selling like hotcakes! I got the last one in the store by you, Dangerous Depths. So now, I will not be heard from as much as I sink to the dangerous depths of reading Grammy's book. And by the way....you calling yourself "Grammy" is a total disconnect from the picture on the back. You might technically be a Grandmother....but you ain't no "grammy" like I've ever seen, you young thing. L ; )
LOL!! I had a hysterectomy at 23 and have been on hormones ever since. I think it made me stay young looking. I don't even have gray hair! :-) Hope you like the book! Colleen
I so needed to read this thread :). I have been feeling so discouraged lately and you gals pulled me out and made me see the bigger picture. Although i am not a Christian, i am a very spiritual person and maintain a spiritual practice (including through a spiritual community we belong to). I also believe God brought me this diet. I prayed, visualized, intended and so on and so forth for a long time for help, or an answer. When i discovered the hcg diet all these synchronicities happened -- the beautiful language of the universe. It's nice to know i am not alone.
Getting discouraged is only a reminder calling me back to faith!
