baby oil and corn husker's lotion. neither seem to work too well on lips. mine get really raw, so i dot on very small amounts of blistex lip balm if i'm desperate.

There is enough variation in the fact content of the food I eat (like the difference between chicken breast and ground beef) that I don't see how using something to keep lips from chapping is going to hurt me. I use Carmex periodically and haven't noticed any problems. I get cold sores if my lips get too chapped, so going without some kind of lip balm is not an option.

I have been putting a beeswax lip balm i got at the farmer's market from our honey lady. I know it also has cocnut butter in it, but I only use it once per day and my lips are very soft.

I would think a little coconut oil would be ok too. Make sure you are drinking enough water!

I used carmex when my lips were really dry. It never caused me any problems. I still lost 18 lbs in 23 days.

Just a suggestion, but I have been using lip balm from "Burt's Bees" made with bees wax. It works great.

I use Carmex (addicted to the stuff and use it constantly!) and I haven't had any problems yet. Day 5 of VLCD now
