I want to add one more item into the mix. I've mentioned that my husband has been maintaining his weight beautifully in spite of eating ice cream nearly every night and donuts on occasion. Well he suddenly started gaining and gradually went up 5 pounds. He should have done a steak day but didn't. I began to look at what had changed and this is it: instead of having a hamburger patty I'd fixed him as a snack, he had a brat. And instead of pure ice cream, he'd gotten some ice cream cone things. Both of those are loaded with chemicals and preservatives. I made him ditch both of those things and in a week he was back down to his LIW. So I reread the Trudeau book again and I think even though he is extreme, he's on the right track on some things about the foods we eat. Dave is still eating ice cream every night but now it's all natural butter pecan and has no chemicals. It's actually higher fat than the drumsticks he was eating. So that's something to think about too.

Had oatmeal again for breakfast yesterday and this morning I was up .6. Not worried because I ate late and I am still 3 lbs below my LIW. Today I think I will add fat-free refried beans or some wild or brown rice. So far so good, but I can't wait until I start my next round. Hang in their everyone!

Thank you all for your words of wisdom. I am a long way from being done with hcg for good but I am looking to the day when I move on to the rest of my life as a skinny woman. I appreciate knowing what you are doing to maintain and also knowing that there are great success stories out there. Thanks again:))

Colleen, I have to keep it simple food wise as well. I will gain alittle immediately if I eat highly processed stuff. I also watch the salt some, not alot...but I bet those brats were loaded with salt. I continue to avoid as many preservatives as I can, and msg, and high fructose corn syrup. If I want chips I eat stacy's brand. I found I continue to have that clean feeling that you get on p2 by eating this way. And I can eat alot, and not gain weight:)).

another note I'd like to add...I eat most of my meals at home. I know exactly what I am getting and can eat whenver I am hungry. I keep tons of fruit around and other healthy snacks so I never feel deprived. I always grab an apple or a bag of nuts when I walk out the door...if I get hungry I eat that BEFORE I stop for something else if I am unable to get home to make a meal. I have the luxury of setting my own hours as far as work goes so that never becomes an issue. I also try to keep in mind that if it comes in a box, bag, or can it's probably not the best for me. I know it takes more time and money to eat better, but is worth it every time I look in the mirror. I also am concerned about gaining the weight back, but I will continue to do my best, and if the weight does come back I know I can do another round and take control back again. my thought process is that I may have to do a round once a year to maintain my weight, re-focus, and stay on track. This is something I know I can do and is extremely empowering to me to feel I now have control over my weight. Good Luck to all

I agree Cindi.....we get some folks on here commenting that they are only going to do one round, must lose everything they have to lose in that one round, and never gain it back and never do another round...whew!!! Most of us have been dieting one way or the other for a lot of years. To me, if I need to devote every other january to a touch up round....or even every January....I will be a very happy camper. To me, that is still less effort and expense than all the other types of dieting I have tried over the years. I know that this works...and as Cindi says, that alone is very empowering!!

    Cindi..

    Bravo!!!

    :)

It's amazing how many people I read on this forum who really don't understand that yes, you can use the HCG to get extra weight off, but the "big picture" is LIFESTYLE CHANGES...and HCG is a PERFECT tool to "get us back to square one".

Our "previous" lifestyles led us to be overweight, tired, etc, etc. Not saying it's all our fault's-hormonal changes, age, etc. are out of our control and can cause us problems. However, it's amazing to read on here how many folks never read a label before this diet!!!!!! Some have no idea of all the CRAP they are putting in their systems everyday, and what effect it eventually does have on them!

Am I perfect? No, and I don't think anyone is or should be. One of the amazing things that this diet does is to give all of us "another chance" to do it "right" this time. It's amazing how much sugar the average American consumes....just IN the products they use (not heaping teaspoons of the stuff on at will..example...the sugar in the chicken broth!), and just by making small, simple changes we can greatly effect how we feel and live! This diet gives us that chance to not only change our bodies, but change our minds as well!

I would like to add that even before this diet, I was personally changing the way I ate anyway; I did lose weight, just not at the AMAZING rate you do with HCG. The biggest, and most important thing I noticed was that 99% of fast food is unhealthy(duh), but it is also the cheapest thing on the menu. "Eating right" is very expensive whether through organic products at the grocery store or eating the salad instead of the $1 Cheeseburger at McDonald's. This is what drives people to continue to eat poorly (especially in this economy) and therefore "keep us fat".

I am discovering that after P2, I am not as "hungry" as I used to be. My metabolism is "revved", even though I am not on the HCG. Sure I'd love a basket of chips and salsa right now, but actually, I joke about that. I really kinda don't want it. Will I eat it in the future? YOU BET! But only after I've allowed my body to adjust to the "new" me. I think some folks lose sight of the fact that we all need to "catch up" to the lightning fast changes our bodies have encountered. I also believe, however, that we don't need to stress over every little thing once we get to P4...we just need to remember where we were, and what got us there in the first place!

Good job on everything you've done! It's great to hear/read!

    :)
