Katomama...I so agree with you..that is why I am considering myself "stabilized" at 2.8 lb over LIW. it is the weight my body wanted to stabilize at for this round. My first round, I also stabilized over LIW. I don't try to get back down to LIW...I accept the higher weight as the one I am stable at for this round. As far as doing further rounds to drop another 7 to 10 pounds...I think that is what you have to do as you get close to a true ideal weight. The pounds just come off slower the closer you get...just as with any other diet.

Like Susie, I have lost before with WW and on my own. I know what I should weigh, because until about 10 years ago i was NEVER overweight. I am just trying to get back to what i know is the norm for my body, and I want to be on the low end of that range, not the high end of it. Everyone has to do what is best for them....if you used to be thin, you have a good idea what your goal should be. If you were never thin, you need to just take it 7 or 10 pounds at a time as you get closer and see what the mirror tells you, and whether your body insists on adding back some of the pounds.

P4 is difficult, but you get into the routine of it just as you did for p2 and p3. The habit of daily weighing is definately important, because like Susie, i knew I was gaining, but avoided the scales. I won't do that again. Now, if I gaIn, I don't get overly stressed, I have tools to deal. I have a high protein day, drink more water, and all is well again. It is very empowering to have tools that finally work!!!

Just thinking of all the diets i've been on lately--does anyone remember or tried the old "Carbohydrate Addicts" diet of the 1990's (seen on Oprah). First 2 meals very low carb type of meals, yet allowed a "reward meal" (could be in place of any 3 meals but most used dinner). The reward meal consisted of eating a green salad first! with salad dressing in which sugar could not be in the first 4 items on food label. Then, the samller size dinner plate was divided in 3rds. 1/3 low carb veggie, 1/3 protein, and the last 1/3 "the reward" --a carb/starch/sugar item of your choice. That could be wine, a bit of rice, a small baked potato, a piece of wheat bread, or even a piece of cake or a cookie. But all portions had to be equal. If you wanted more to eat of the "carb" 1/3, you would need to add more protein and veggie to make it all thirds equal. They named it a "reward meal" because you got to eat something that was sweet and enjoyable. Feeling not deprived and keeping this balance of foods, kept the body and insulin in check which controls hungar. The results at the scale would be a loss in weight or a maintain in weight.

Okiegray - the Carb Addict diet seems similar to what one of the fitness mags that I read has for a fat loss eating plan. One day is low/no carb, one day is higher in non-starchy carbs, the third day is as you described. I found the theory pretty interesting. Haven't tried it though!

I'm reading two eating plans right now. One is the Paleo diet and the other is the Blood Type diet. Paleo diet is basically no starches for 85% of your meals, but you do have 15% of your meals "open" where you can have ice cream or bread or whatever. The other eating plan is ... well.... I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the concept that chicken is basically "toxic" to everyone with a B bloodtype. I won't say it's not true, because I don't know the chemistry behind what is being said but.... things they say I can eat being a type B, are not always true. I can't do a lot of cow milk products, and theoretically on here I'm supposed to be able to. It's an interesting theory though.

Anyone have insight on either diet?

I can sort of answer that susie...type O is the earliest blood type...sort of the cave man blood type. all other blood types came after type O. My hubby is type O. LOL. In theory, Atkins works well for O's, more than for any other blood group. That is true for him.. He lost 40 or more pounds on Atkins and has maintained the loss for more than 5 years...he follows the low carb lifestyle and doesn't look back.

Wow thats interesting Barb !!I am O negative does that make any difference? I am not very fond of low carb eating but am getting used to it,just had an angus burger from Mcdonalds and just didnt eat the bun and it was awesome;) had a few fries from husbands and actually felt very satisfied because I used to never eat burgers because of weight gain and I love whoppers thats my next one;) I'm getting used to this and have figured I will just never eat much in the starch category to keep weight off but oh well if thats the way it has to be than I can handle it!!

susie, my hubby is o+....so not sure if the RH factor has much to do with it or not. Based on the book, you should be a big meat eater. Be cautious in the beginning of prepared burgers from fast food restaurants...they have more salt and additives which could affect water retention. Try more beef at home at your evening meal...see how you feel. just remember, any fast food will be different than at home cooked.....there is way more salt and fat in fast food!!! :))

maybe you were overweight before hcg because you werent eating the way your body wanted?....??? :)))

Im guessing thats been why I've struggled so much all my adult life I was never a big meat eater would rather have the sides and leave the meat !!! well I also avoided meat because of the high fat most meat has too so I figured I was doing it right and couldnt figure out why I was gaining slowly and couldn't lose no matter what I tried anymore, I had completely messed up my metabolism and thyroid from starving myself for so many years. I dont think I got as much protein in a week as I do now in a day !! Glad I found this diet and hope it has solved all my problems with weight. The fast food was so good last night but I'll be careful and not have it too often thanks for the heads up on that...I know fast food is bad but sometimes you don't have much choice;( my eating habits have definitely changed and hope I can keep it this way, sometimes I get tired of it and just wish I could eat as simplistic as I used to...its so much faster and easier but I don't want to go back to that way if this keeps me thinner and healthier,oh well life changes and so I will adapt to this too;)
