    susie, you are still very "young" in the p4 area sweetie..:). I know I keep saying to have patience, and I sound like a broken record...but things will start to smooth out for you alittle at a time.

    What kind of pizza did you have? Did it have a sweet tasting sauce? Alot of salt? Alot of fat? White or wheat crust? You could have inadvertently combined alot of starches in one innocent little pizza. You need to try one at a time, as Kristi also suggested, and only one in a given day. If you react once, move it to the bottom of the list, wait a day or two, and try something different. Then in a week or so, try the one that made you gain again.

    You aren't lost dear, you are right here with us beside you, and we aren't going to let you feel lost!!!! :))))

    Well I am pretty bummed today. Thru my scale out the window. back up today 3lbs over :( Yesterday I had like it was my first day in P3. Back to the same routine of steak day every other day.

    I'm a little confused too. I was very successful on all rounds but am having trouble with P4 after having been in it for a good month. At first, it was going really well. I seemed to be able to add in lots of things with no change in weight. Now it seems my weight is slowly creeping up, especially if I have a splurge day. I have been told by many other HCG'ers that they allow themselves one splurge day a week where they eat anything they want. When I tried this I gained.

    Ok, fine, it sucks that I can't have one splurge day without gaining but then, shouldn't I be able to go back on plan to lose it? Because that's what I did. Had the splurge day, then the rest of the week, went back to eating on plan - either very high protein only or high protein with starches here and there (maybe some potato at breakfast, then nothing else the rest of the day, or some bread at dinner on a different day). I'm not eating any processed foods and no sugars on days I'm trying to lose.

    This is pretty discouraging. I actually don't mind going back on HCG every so often if it helps maintain, but I was thinking once a year, not once every couple of mos. It makes me think the HCG really didn't reset my metabolism or hypothalmus or whatever it was supposed to do.

    Any ideas from anyone? What am I doing wrong?

    irish, when you said you gained after a splurge day...how much did you gain? How far above LIW are you? What kind of splurges did you indulge in? Did you keep your water intake up? You may have some food intolerances and your body is trying to tell you. It could be some of the chemicals or additives to the foods as well. Let's take a look at some of the foods that have caused you problems.

    Kristi....there must be something you are eating that your body doesn't like. You shouldn't need a steak day every other day. Your set point may actually be higher than your LIW. alot of us find that to be the case.

    Oh I am up 7 pounds ABOVE my LIW... I set my new LIW 4 pounds above.. (now i am 3lbs above the new LIW) Stayed stable at that for a few days and now having the same prob again... I went back to eating P2 food and slowly reintroducing eggs first for 3 days, then cheese for 3 days, and so on... Never gained on those days... I havent really ventured into P4 yet still eating like P3( i did try low carb tortilla and potatoe which both made me gain 1 pound) because I am all over the place. I should be starting week 3 of P4 tomorrow.

    Hi ladies was out all day missed checking in on y'all. Well my high protein brought me down a lb. so I was a little brave yesterday and had a tiny graham cracker piece and guess what right back up again;( so I had apple for breakfast chicken salad for lunch and some chicken tacos minus the tortilla and some cheese and hoping to be back down in morning!
    Thanks barb you're so encouraging...I had the cauliflower crust pizza added pepperoni onions and peppers and cheese the sauce was the cheap walmart brand someone on here suggested so Ill check that label again and see what in it. I feel like Irish said I did well the first few weeks and now seems like I cant add anything without a gain it really sucks but Ill keep trying what else can I do!! hoping to get this figured out one day!! Keep trying Kristi we'll be routing for each other and get it straight some day soon:0

    Yikes...I went up 2 lbs yesterday! Guess it is steak for me today...grrr.....

    I had two pickle spears at lunch yesterday.....that shouldn't have done it.

    Wow amazed I was at LIW this morning but I was very good yesterday...only had protein and an apple so I guess that made my body happy!!! but I had ezekiel bread and peanutbutter for breakfast today so I hope tomorrow is good.I'm scared to weigh every morning and some morning I think I'm sure I'm fine without but I do anyway and I wonder if it's always the food because I know we fluctuate some right? Well hope yall have a good day gotta go talk to ya later.

    Hey Barb,

    My situation is that I was actually 163 on LIW. After I finished the last three days of VLCD, I was at 160 and I stayed at that pretty much all through P3 and for the first few weeks of P4. So, I actually considered myself as stabilized at 160 rather than my true LIW of 163. And maybe that is where part of my issue is.

    So, I am fluctuating now between 163.5 and 165.5.

    At least 5 days a week, I seem to have to stick to very high protein, low anything else. I'm staying away from processed and am doing organic whenever I can. If I throw in a carb (like a potato or toast) at a meal, I will likely maintain. However, if I were to have a starch at every meal, then I would gain. Don't seem to be able to tolerate sugar at all. Example - on the 5 days I'm eating high protein, low carb, I have a Lara Bar for breakfast. Which has two ingredients in it. Dried dates and peanuts. But I won't have anything else with sugar for the entire day. Again, will maintain but, if I were to throw in a cup of natural ice cream or something, I'd likely gain. Also, one other thing to note is I'm not really eating any different than I did in the in the first weeks of P4 and had no probs then.

    So, if I have a splurge day, I really splurge. Still eat high protein all day, but also maybe go out to dinner on a Saturday and have bread at dinner, a glass or two of wine and a dessert. I will gain 2-3 lbs the next day and it will take me another 5 days of very disciplined, high protein, low carb meals to get me back down to the 163. I haven't seen the 160 in awhile now and don't have much hope of getting back to that, it seems.

    I understand that I might be one of the unlucky ones but, I was really hoping that I had reset things and that I'd be able to have a splurge day on the weekend and still be able to have a potato or piece of bread during the week without having to pay for it the way I seem to be. I do plan to go on one more round of HCG to get off the last 15 or so but I'm not doing that until January. I'm just worried that, with these gains over little splurges, I'll be miserable over the holidays worrying about gaining.
