Hi All! First I want to say this has been my favorite forum and I have been reading a ton of them. This one has by far been the most educational and inspiring!
Quick Intro: Age 34, height 5'2", start weight 163 on 8/28/09, currently R2P2 VLCD#16, current weight 142.8, Using homeopathic HHCG spray.
I did a 42 day round of P2, got down to 138.2, took 21 days of P3 - in which I gained back 10lbs!! from LDW *sobbing*, then started 2nd round P2 Nov 1. Today on Day 16 - I am only down 5.6 lbs? Did an apple day on Friday, lost 1.6 and this AM it is all back. So frustrated and need to get out of the 140s. NOTE: before I got my desk job and gained big poundage I did maintain a weight right around this mark for many years.

My question to all you awesome inspiring veterans - do you think I messed it up by taking too short of a break between rounds? Am I just wasting my time with this round?

I am following Simeons protocol with no mods, including the melba and fruit except oranges. Only moisturizers are labeled oil free, makeup is powdered, am continuing B vitamin supplements plus hair supplements (no oils or fats in these - verified) because I am one of those with the HAIR LOSS problem. I take magnesium to keep things moving, and ingest at least 1 gallon of water/day. I also use plenty of flavored stevias and a variety of herbal and other teas - but no instant and avoid any teas that show any calories in the label.

Any ideas? What can I do? Wait it out? I am so impatient and discouraged.
    Thanks in advance!

LuckyT~ I thought I was reading my story, except I am 5'5". I have been through pretty close as you. This round I am on D#16 and I have lost 2lbs from my LIW last round. I have choosen to stay the course till #23 days because of Dr S's warning. I figured if nothing else my weight will be more stable. I didn't stabilize on P3 either and I started R3 after 3 weeks on P3. I think the short break is partly to blame for me. Next round I will take a large break I am thinking of starting mid jan to beg feb. But, I just want to encourage you to keep going only 1 week left and expect no more weight loss so you don't get discourage from your own desired weight loss. Then if you do actually loss more you'll be so happy too!

Do you know why you gained 10 pounds back in P3, lucky? I'm surprised at least that much didn't come off in your first week or two of your new round. Are you hungry? What type of hcg and dosage are you doing?

    Thanks for the responses!
Yes, I definitely will complete the 23 days, have learned a LOT about p3 as well so am confident I will do better next time around.
Tryingto, I am wondering whether the 3 weeks break was too short after the 42 day round. Interesting you had the same thing happen.

Grammy I too would have expected all that weight to come right back off as well, which is why I'm surprised and dismayed that it isn't! I'm on the homeopathic hcg, it is delivered by s spray. I haven't been hungry and have felt great, just as in the last round, except a little weak. Again no surprise, I'm not prevented from doing my daily activities or anything!
What sunk my proverbial ship this p3 was sugar free foods. Namely sf ice cream and chocolate. Also added in macadamia nuts the first week, which was a mistake. Then steak day could only correct a bit, and the gains outweighed the losses, rest is history...lol.

Feels like I have hit some sort of immunity. Not with hunger, its just weird.

My fiance is going great guns on this program, down 32 lbs on vlcd 34. I'm so jealous of men on this protocol!

Lucky, I know some only do a 3 week break between rounds, but I think it is really hard on your body to do that, and it might be the cause of your stall. I think whether you do a p3 and p4 between rounds is less important than the amount of time between rounds that you wait. Personally, I don't think p4 is very helpful between rounds, and the clinic I go thru recommends you stay in p3 with just a few added starches after 3 weeks.....but there are a lot of different opinions on that. We are seeing more problems with people who try to go right back into another round after just 3 weeks though.

Hang in there...take a longer break this time and come back and hit it hard in Jan with the rest of us :))))

lucky- i agree, that your 3-wk break was not long enough after doing a long round. if you had just done a short round to start with, it might have gone better.

nats- regarding this line: "but if the interruption lasts longer he must again eat normally until he has had his third injection."- i think he's saying that you CAN take a break longer than 2 wks, but if you do, then you need to load again before continuing. my interpretation of this is that you can go 23 days, take a break, then continue on for the final 17 days. i actually think this may be where the idea started of a short round, doing P3 for 3 weeks, then doing another short round. he does not say that if you don't start back up within 2 weeks that you have to wait the full 6- he just says you have to load again.

so... it seems like he's saying that you could do a short round, take a 3 week break, then do another 17 days (which some people might then try to stretch to 23). but after that, i'd definitely say you have to wait 6 weeks. And if you do a long round to start with, there is no option for a "break" because you've already reached the 40-day max.

(holding my head in my hands and waiting for colleen's reaction to this idea... LOL!) Love ya colleen, even when we do debate!

Has anyone drank red wine during P2? If so, was it just like cheating with food?
What are the rules with red wine during P3?

no wine in P2- a friend of mine ate at a restaurant one night, had a little extra meat (steak) and about 2oz of wine- stalled for 3 days.

in P3 Dr. S. says you may have a glass of wine with dinner- he doesn't get more specific than that.

    Hi
Im having a problem with my losses and i dont know why. Im on day 17VLCD and the last 4 days ive hovered around the same then dropped a lb then gained it back and today i was the same weight as yesterday. Im following the diet exactly with even grissini breadsticks. The only changes ive made on the diet since start are about a week ago i was so sick of salt on the bland food i bought some paprika spice chicken seasoning and garam masala spice. Im also using cinnamon on my baked apples. Im positive there are no sugars in these so im at a loss. One other thing i should mention, a couple days ago i didnt start my water until about 3 pm but i still drank 4ltrs. Can anyone see a fault. I did wonder about water retention coz of the salt but im not using it now since the spices.
    Thanks.
    Ken.

Check your spices, Ken. Might have sugar or fat in them.
