OK, Dick, since you gave a couple of personal details, I too will share. Yes, I am a cat lover, yes I do have some...5 to be exact. They have 5 litter boxes, and they are indoor only cats. 4 of the 5 are rescued. One plays fetch better than any dog I have ever met. One can get into any kitchen cabinet it desires. Not always a good thing. They all greet me enthusiastically at the door when I get home each day.
Dick, you will need your smarty pants on daily to keep up with us. That might get interesting as you start to lose weight....do you own any suspenders to keep them up? -
Ya'll missed a grand Oktoberfest last night in my beer garden here in Las Vegas! The evening was balmy. Beer and brats plentiful. About 50 guests. Ran out of ale. Sure a good thing I had 2 other varieties on tap!
Dick - I'll loan you a pair of suspenders and a hole punch. Dug mine out last night. The belt mustof belonged to someone else as it was too long to keep my pants up. Had to pounch a couple more holes in it. Shirts look like they are hand me downs from a big brother. Good luck!!.... -
a fetch playing cat, now I have heard everything.
We have a cat, kats. Name is Tom. He was a stray. My little girl found him about 5 yaers ago and he adopted us. He is very sweet except when he is clawing into the top of my convertable sports car and scratching up the weatherstripping on the back door because he is wnats attention.
He is quite the hunter, often dragging to the back door his catch of the day, mice, moles, squirrells, snakes, and birds.
He shows them to us before he consumes them and leaves their entrails on the floor mat.
I like Taco, my dog better. He isn't messy. never would do anything to damage my sports car, and wouldn't think of scratching up my door weatherstripping. Besides all that he thinks I hung the moon.
I guess everybody needs somebody to think they are wonderful. :) -
My cats only hunt animals that are unfortunate enough to get into the house :)). Even then, we only have one that knows how to do it. The others would be joining me up on a chair until the situation gets rectified.
Cats want to please their owners GP...your post only proves that point. If you wanted Tom to fetch a ball, he would. But to him, he is supplying you with food, which is even more important in the scheme of things.
If you gave him a nice scratching post, I bet he would leave your door frame and convertible alone :) -
kats, if Tom wanted to please his owner he wouldn't have messed up my convertable top to start with!! Or the weatherstrip on my back double doors, or the door in my garage, or the door frame in the laundry.
And if he was bringing the kill to me to eat why does he just leave the entrails for me? The part he doesn't like.
No, I think Tom is just ornery. He plays dumb. Maybe he really is dumb. Daughter loves him though so I let him exist. -
But GP....first he brings the kill to you whole, uneaten, and offers it to you. Once you walk away, then he eats it. The other stuff can be taken care of with a scratching post......if you don't provide one, he has to "make do" with your convertible top, etc. I agree he is probably ornery as well...he had to be to survive as a stray. But he has to be special if your daughter loves him :)) What does Taco think of him?
