I did drink a couple of energy drinks call X/S that I get from the internet. They have no sugar and not carbs. I try not to use them unless I absolutely need them even though they are just high B vitamins and some other stuff. They really work and it is not like the others. These just give you energy not jack you up and let you drop. The few times I did use them it appeared to have not affect on my weight loss, but again I would stick to Dr. S protocol as close as possible. We all know if we stick to Dr. S protocol we will loose weight! Don't have the web site handy but if there is any interest I will get it and post within a few days.

My personal experience with Rock Star (sugar free) energy drinks (sweetened with sucralose and asulphamine K (SP??)). I had 1 Rock Star 0 calorie energy drink on VLCDs 9, 10, and 11. Those days were the only days (other than the first couple of VLCD) that I was hungry, they were the only days that I was DIZZY, and they were the only days that I did not release ANY weight. They are gone forever for me!!! No more sucralose in any form!

Going by that website, there's something else we should absolutely avoid at all costs, and I'm pretty sure all of us have it in our kitchens. This stuff is made from sodium - a metal that actually burns in plain air in its pure form, and chlorine, a deadly poison. In fact, they've done studies that show too much of this stuff is actually fatal.

It's called sodium chloride, but most of us know it as salt. Nearly everything we eat can be written up to sound ominous and scary. Sugar - the regular stuff we get from sugar cane - is 1/4 carbon - the same stuff that clogs up our chimneys and has to be cleaned out or we risk burning the house down. What matters is how it breaks down in the body, and how it interacts with the chemistry already present.

Any time I see stuff like this: "The manufacturer claims that the chlorine added to sucralose is similar to the chlorine atom in the salt (NaCl) molecule. That is not the case.", it sets off all kinds of red flags for me. Of course it's the same - chlorine is only one type of atom, regardless of where or how it's joined. It doesn't come in different flavors.

Liquid B-12 does it for me. I've had all the energy I need after I started taking it everyday. No need for energy drinks and worrying about sucralose or any other form of sugar.

I think so too Sminsocal, I think that we could turn in to major worry warts worrying and worrying about every little thing. The protocol is for a limited time and you may pick up some healthier eating options, but life was made to be enjoyed. If we fuss and worry about everything, well, then life will go by and it will have gone by in a haze of worry and frustration. Just do the best you can! : )
