    T- sugar-free products are also on the fence a bit, because sugar alcohols count more than they want you to think. i found them ok in small amounts but if i ate much i reacted just like i would to sugar- hands swell, feel tired, weight goes up, diarhhea. i did fine with nuts all along, but some people don't. you might try atkin's bars, but again then fall into that nebulous category because the carbs are there, but with fewer "net" carbs. in wk 3 of P3 you should be able to eat different fruits, and pretty much all veggies except maybe corn.

    So even though I am stabalized, I mean it seems perfect right now, and I have tried nuts, protien shakes, Atkins bars like some others on here have, and ezekiel bread (only 2 slices over the past 2 weeks) I should still wait another week to add anything else? I'm worried now that maybe my body is playing a nasty trick on me, and as soon as I look at something else it will rebel! uh-oh.....

    T- sounds like you've eaten all the "fence" foods. :)

    so yes, i'd wait another week to be sure. i imagine some people stabilize faster than others, but you do want to make sure your body is ready for more food. if there is something you really want to try, taste just a small amount and see what the scale says.

    Hi, all: I have been much helped by all your comments through P2 with a 20 lb weight loss and would like to add my comments on P3. I have been scrupulous about no starches and sugars, but, amazingly, can eat many different fruits, only two or so a day and no melons or mango of course, and I can eat nuts galore. I have never been above LIW and even 2 lbs below on some days. I recommend Linda Prinster's book as she gives a chart showing allowable foods for all phases. There are some differences with 'P and I' but helpful nonetheless. I did this in preparation for knee surgery and I am so psyched that I intend to do a short round afterward as soon as I can to lose the last 10 pounds. I have to confess I am in my 60s and NEVER thought I could lose the weight. I love reading all of your comments.

    Well after day 1 of p3 I am up 1.5 from LIW. Hubby ate everything that I did and he didn't gain a pound, in fact he is down 1 from LIW. I really don't like p3! I want to go back to my easy p2 choices. So for breakfast I had 1/2 a grapefruit. Lunch will be a protein shake and a cheese stick. For dinner a big salad with chicken maybe? Does that sound good or bad?

    Laura. from what I've read on here that doesn't sound enough food! You need to really bulk up on the protein. One of the reasons most of us are here doing this protocol is that we starved ourselves so much our bodies held on to EVERYTHING we ate! Have another read and see what you think!

    How much protein is in the shake? That will be the telling thing. Need to make sure you're getting enough protein.

    not enough food Laura. You defininitely need to eat more than that. You dont want to send your body the signal it is starving. It will hold on to everything and you start gaining. Eat eggs ans bacon for breakfast or an omelet. Have meat, protein, just eat more. That was not nearly enough. Your body needs protein big time!!!! In fact you could have eggs and cheese for breakfast then eat steak and salad for lunch and another steak for supper with tomato or apple and more cheese. Read Pounds an Inches where it talks about hunger edema from lack of protein if you dont eat enough of it when you get to P3. Dr S tells you exactly what to do. I dont remember exact instructions so gave rough estimate above. I would read it and follow his instructions.

    I am on the P3 roller coaster ride, and I find I do better when I have real meat like BBQ chicken or beef, along with larger portions of fruit and veggies that are allowed on P2, if I stray from this (get lazy and not BBQ), and have protiens like sliced turkey deli meat, peanut butter, and too many boiled eggs etc. etc. I gain. I know we are all different, but this is what I find works for me, now if I can behave on vacation!

    Ok if nobody wants to join my club to beat up all the easy stabilizers then I am going to the P4 lounge. At least they have a Pubah Nectar Machine in there and a Pull Table. Maybe I can round up some of the riff raff from P4 lounge to be part of my club.
