It's not a low carb diet though, Idoogie. that's what trips people up. You can have carbs in fruits and higher carb veggies. but NO starch or sugar. P3 isn't the test of what your body can take. It's the resetting of your metabolism. P4 is the test of what your body can take.

Oh I know it's now low carb but I don't really want to "stabilize" b/c I still have more to lose. I am hoping to lose some more or at least tone up through eating better and working out. If after a month or two if I haven't been able to lose more pounds or inches I will most likely do another round. Does that make sense? Don't get me wrong, I am planning on not eating sugar or starchy foods, I won't eat tortillas every day either.

Enzy- from what I have read you can eat fruit but try not to eat really sugary ones such as melons. The ones we eat in p2 and berries are okay though.

nice =p am still not stabilizing well yet (almost 1 week soon) and worried that fruits might affect but am missing the freshness of eating them lol

laura- you still want to stabilize, so that your body does not try to get back up to your pre-P2 weight. this phase is very important- as important or more so than P2.

once you stabilize, then you can go on to trying to lose with better eating and exercise without jeopardizing the pounds you lost on P2. make sense?

Idoogie, you are sort of morphing p3 into the atkins induction phase....ie keeping carbs less than 20, low carb tortillas on day one, etc. P3, as margie said, is very very important. Messing with the protocol at this stage is just as disastrous as messing with the food choices on p2. Just be very careful not to try to make your p3 into an atkins eating plan. The two are really not the same. Just as in p2, you need to get your feet wet in p3 with a couple of solid weeks before you try to experiment. I also have used the low carb tortillas, but not in week 1 or even the first half of week 2. I was careful to keep the fat content of that meal low. That worked for me. Hang in there...let us know how you do tomorrow. Barb

    hi all,
I am on day 12 of P3. At first I went up 2 lbs, then surprise, a week early, TOM. Then I increased my protien a little more and lost the 2, now down an additional one and have been holding at that for almost a week. Now that it seems to be stabilizing, can I start to introduce more things, in my 3rd week, or do I have to wait until I am completely done with week 3?

Ok I'm going to beat up everyone in this lounge who doesn't have trouble stabilizing, and I MEAN IT!
This just floating through flowery beds of ease to stabilize just isn't fair. We need to form a club that beats up all the easy stabilizers. Anybody else in?

T, for the 3 weeks of p3 you are supposed to stick to no sugar, no starch. The low carb tortillas are sort of on the fence, since technically they are about the same as the melba toast that was allowed in p2, but still are a bit of a stretch on p3. You can try adding nuts, but I would avoid all blatent sugars and starches. Barb
