Hi Folks, thanks for the encouraging P3 info. I'm on day 6 of P3 and woke up to a lb more. Have been very careful to add dairy calories a little at a time. Up to 900 calories of total food today and I think I'm "backed up" because of the dairy. It's been 4 days!! Smooth move for me.

Very interesting info about the amt of grams of protein allotted for your body a day. But Im confused....according to the calcs...--at .37 x my weight, then I'm supposed to eat only 51grams of protein a day. After two fish meals and a half cup of milk or a slice of cheese I'm done...! But aren't I supposed to load on the protein in P3?

I suppose it's a hit or miss vary kind of thing. I'll stick with more fish and less dairy and bank on Smooth move! Other than that, P3 is pretty cool. My original issue was not eating a lot. AT 900 calories I think, "Whoa! That's not even my 'recommended' caloric intake..Have to have another 500 calories. Does that mean eating as many veggies as I can all day long? ug." But then again...I'm so happy to have lost 17 lbs and have my jeans fit me again!! So looking forward to the next round! Thanks all, Eme

Eme, I think you need to increase your calories...you will gain weight on p3 if you don't eat enough calories, because your body will go into starvation mode, and even worse, you will train your body to exist on fewer calories, which is a set up for future weight gain. So, my advice is to increase your calories using lean protein, and fats....you will be amazed that by eating more, your weight will decrease. Barb

eme- 51 gm is the MINIMUM amount of protein to eat per day, all the time (not just P3). if you can, eat even more while in P3.

I think my weight is starting to stabilize. HATE the first couple of days on P3. What a relief if I'm about past the wild fluctuations! How is everyone else doing?

Just started P3 today. It is so awesome b/c I was hungry but ate a sensible amount of food for breakfast and lunch and feel so satisfied. I had bacon and cheese omelet and bacon for breakfast. For lunch I made taco meat and had one huge soft taco w/ a low carb tortilla (7 net carbs) with cheese, s/c and avocado. I love that I can have one soft taco and be full instead of eating 3 or 4. Going to have a big salad with grilled chicken for dinner.

It is hard b/c there are so many choices, P2 might have been boring but at least I didn't have to decide what to eat, b/c it was so limited it was easy to decide what to eat.

laura- be careful with those low-carb tortillas so early in P3- that is still starch, even if it's low-carb. also be careful not to overdo on the fats. Dr. S. says that if you eat no starch or sugar you may indulge in fats "somewhat more liberally". many high-protein foods are very high in fat. you may be fine, but that just looks like a lot of food for the first half of day one! let us know what your weight did.

lots of meat is good, and use low-cal veggies/salad to fill up on.

did you wait the full 3 days, or 72 hrs? if only 72 hrs, you may find your weight creeping up eating this much your first day.

Laura, low carb tortillas are still starch! Danger, danger, Will Robinson. :-)

LOL, I know that they aren't really allowed but I read someone say on here that they kept their carbs under 20 per day so I figured 7 wouldn't be too bad. I also ate most of my food early so that I will burn it off, will do 40 min of cardio in just a little bit. I know that p3 is a test to see what my body can take so I will just see what happens tomorrow. I did only wait 72 hrs but you warned me so I know I might gain a little, we will see tomorrow!
