there is a place here in phx az that puts you on 800 - 1200 for the very beginning. Everyone else says 500 calories max. I'm confused.

Hi again!! Alot of the clinics tinker with Simeon's original protocol and put their own spin on it. Most of us follow the original protocol found in Pounds and Inches and more recently brought back into the lime light by Kevin Trudeau in his book "the weight loss Cure". If you look at 5 different hcg clinics, you will probably find 5 different versions of the diet. Barb

Is there an amount of the veggies allowed? I see the list of allowed items, but I haven't been able to find an amount. I've read "Pounds and Inches", and the newcomer threads....

    Thanks

carole- the opinion on this varies. Kevin Trudeau says "a large handful"- that's what i do. Dr. S. does not specify the amount. Some docs tell their patient 3.5 oz, but i have no idea where they get that idea from.

one thing we do know, is the amount of calories in the other foods. so many people figure out what the calories are going to be for their meat and fruit for that meal, and then they can eat veggies in any amount that takes them up to about 250 calories.

most of these veggies are very low in calories, so you can eat fairly large amounts.

I've just started researching this diet. What is the benefit of using shots over drops? I prefer to avoid needles in my life whenever possible. Thanks.

shots- easy, fast, requires less hcg, don't have to worry about what you eat or drink before/after. if IM, same as the original protocol.

prescription-grade drops- no shots. but you have to hold them in your mouth for 10-15' without swallowing, can't eat/drink for 15' before and 15' after.

homeopathic drops- don't work well for some people, some are hungry on them. advantage is that there is no mixing, and no refrigeration required.
