So I just went to the grocery where I thought I had a brilliant plan to have the butcher trim the fat off the edge of a London Broil & grind it up for ground beef. He told me they'd be more than happy to do that for me but that the 4% ground beef would be lower in fat than the London Broil. So I bought the 4% ground beef. Is that ok? Is that really lower in fat than Lonon Broil?
    Thanks,
    ~D

I eat 90/10 ground sirloin on a daily basis and have continued to lose .5 to a pound a day. I always make sure to soak any extra grease off with a paper towel. Most of the fat burns off while on the grill...if that's how you cook it. I think that should work out great. Just see how your body reacts tomorrow.

I've used the 96% (4%) beef in burgers on the Foreman. I haven't had any problems (D10/11lbs. lost).

    . . . I rinsed the ground beef - even starting with 96 or 97% lean

here's a link for more info:

found it did not change the taste of the recipe at all. . .

Yeah, I use 96-97% lean ground beef too, but I also have london broil, cube steaks, filet mignon and beef tenderloin. All work fabulous!!!

I new to this and Im going into my 8th day with a 10 pound weight loss. YEAH ME!! I purchased 96/4 ground beef. I was able to get six 3 oz portions from the package. I completely brown the meat, and then I rinsed it three times. Just to make sure all fat was gone lol. I put back on the stove and reheated and added spices, chili seasoning, garlic, onion powder, salt, paprika, and pepper. I wrapped it in a leaf of butter lettuce. YUMMM. I will make this again.
