I been doing hcg for 2 wks with no side effects at all. My husband started a week ago , and he is having all kinds of hell on it. Has anyone EVER has long lasting diarhea with this? Also, he is itching really bad. Please let me have some feedback as im at a loss here.

The itching I had for a few days non stop! It was to the point that I though I had mosquitoes in my house but I just couldnt see them. The diarrhea I'm not sure of. Most ppl I think have constipation on this plan. Im not sure if its different for men. I'm thinking it may be something he is eating that is causing the diarrhea. Has he started eating things that he never used to? Also, a lot of citrus and leafy greens promote BM's. so maybe this is just temporary for him. I hope this helps some!

He has been eating alot of fruit that he is not used to. He's used to eating the fresh vegetables, so I dont think thats it. Did you do anything or put anything on your skin for the itching? He is really miserable at night.

I'm not 100% sure if either of these is permitted on the hCG diet, but he could try 98-100% PURE aloe vera gel. And I mean pure. No additives. Or, he could try taking a bath with some baking soda mixed in with the water. Kills the itch and he'll have rediculously soft skin lol. If either of those are a no go for the protocol, than I apologize, but they are very good itch remedies.

As for the diarrhea, please makes sure he drinks a ton of water, you don't want to risk dehydration. Even though he's used to vegetables, the sudden onslaught of fruit could most definitely be the culprit. If someone isn't used to eating a lot of it, and doesn't slowly introduce it to their diet, then spending your spare time in the bathroom is quite common.

I didn't get the itchies till recently (about half way through...) and only a couple of days...I would suggest a mild sedative, or half a dose of tylonal PM - at least then he will sleep through it. :)

Is your husband taking the digestive enzymes before each meal? It may help his body break down the foods that he is introducing. They are mandatory at my doctor's. Is he eating strawberries? There are a lot of allergies out there for various berries. I am also allowed Aloe Vera over 97% pure. He can also try a sea salt body scrub in the shower. The fruit should level off. My plan only allows 3 types, strawberries, grapefruits and apples and only 1 c. w/ each meal, so the reality is that is it not a lot. My bet is if he is not used to fruit, it could simply be a digestive problem. Try the enzymes, you never realize what you are breaking down.

I have had the very worst diahrea on the HCG diet. Typically in P2, i wouldn't have a BM except every other day and when I did, i was racing for the bathroom when I did have to go. Even now in P3, I race for the bathroom and pray I don't have an accident. I call it violent diarhea because it is like none I've ever had before. What was also VERY odd was if I did have the violent diarhea, I then did not lose very well the next day. Instead I lost best the morning after a day without a BM. Isn't that odd - I would expect to lose a lot after those episodes - feels like all my organs went out with the BM as well! I had that for the whole 40-day protocol. Now in P3, I'm still having it. I think those digestive enzymes are the best idea. I totally forgot about them but my doctor has them as optional in my HCG Diet booklet that she gave me.

Tell your hubby, I do sympathize with him and to hang in there! Stay near a bathroom. ;-)

For the itches I think a 10% antihistamine might work. There are no restrictions on allergy type remedies I believe

I take Singulair on a regular basis for allergies and asthma. I wonder if for the itches if your hubby could just add Zyrtec or Claritin until it's gone??
